This questions is so evil!
I think Star Wars is a bit hit and miss.
I love Episodes IV to VI
but I to III are...just.....I don't know it's like torture watching Hayden Christensen pretending he has some sort of chemistry with Natalie Portman.
I love the books and the games that come from this universe and the Clone Wars animation was pretty good too.
But yeah sometimes its hard to sit through and watch the newer movies. I also have trouble accepting CGI.
I loved the puppets and the costumes!
Star Trek has also been hit and miss, but I do love most of the series with the exception of umm, Enterprise...got a bit lost there.
But hey, I am big fan of Deep Space Nine and most people can't stand that series.
God damn Jadzia Dax! phew!
I guess I can't really give a justifies answer til I finish all of the Star Trek series and movies.
But it has that old school corniness I love that Star Wars lost along the way.

Always loved chemistry. Always.

I'm still trying to decipher Moffats writing style as so many story lines seemingly go no where.
Like what happened with the Zygons? They just left them in the basement, what was going to happen? Do they remember they are Zygons?
Weren't they trying to take over the world!? What Moffat!? What happens next!?

#58065 "Downgrading" To Windows 7
Posted by Wednesday on 01 December 2013 - 09:06 AM in Software
I'm also running windows 8 right now. I've been told that is was designed for tablets not laptops.
So it's pretty useless to me. There was no start button! I had to go and install one myself.
Would love to hear how you go downgrading...may consider it for myself.
#58064 Pokemans

I've been playing Pokemon X on the 2DS, which has really nice graphics. The story line is a bit predictable, but I won't lie, when I first got it I played for about 8 hours straight :/

It's still pretty popular here in Perth.
There are still tournaments you can enter.
I was playing for a while as I got a new deck that was full of Fairies, but it was only good against dark world decks, I had my ass handed to me when I went against a six samurai deck!
#58062 Warhammer 40k
Posted by Wednesday on 01 December 2013 - 08:52 AM in Tabletop Games
I started creating an army, I chose Daemons. But as previously mentioned it is very expensive in Australia and I didn't get much further then buying some khorne daemons and a Daemon Prince. It's fine for small games I guess. Maybe I'll get something good for Christmas!
#58061 Munchkin Zombies
Posted by Wednesday on 01 December 2013 - 08:50 AM in Tabletop Games
erm I'm blond and understand the game play just fine.
I have 2 versions, Munchkin and Cthulhtu Munchkin.
There is also heaps of awesome expansion packs, I just added the Rangers class to our deck along with new Dragon cards.
Which make for an wicked combo when creating a steed.
I don't like how it's minimum 3 players, but it is a lot of fun to stab people in the back and fight monsters.
It's like an RPG without the role playing
#58060 REGULAR SHOW VS ADVENTURE TIME
Posted by Wednesday on 01 December 2013 - 08:45 AM in Misc. Movies and T.V.
I have a gumball machine I called Benson!
I really like both cartoons, Regular show got a little bit too repetitive for me, so I don't keep up with it as much as I do Adventure TimeI do like how both have Dungeons and Dragons references
#58058 Pacific Rim

I didn't understand why the Jaeger in one scene grabbed a boat to fight the Kaiju, when they had a hidden sword the whole time.

I was Velma from Scooby Doo this year....but people kept thinking I was Daria :/
#58055 Agents of Shield
Posted by Wednesday on 01 December 2013 - 08:38 AM in Misc. Movies and T.V.
I wasn't fond of it at the start, but I kept watching for the easter eggs.
I think it is actually getting better as it goes. There is finally some character development, and it is still based off a lot of comics, so I'm actually quite happy with it now.
#58054 Doctor Who 50th Anniversary
Posted by Wednesday on 01 December 2013 - 08:23 AM in Sci Fi
I'm curious to see what people thought of the 50th anniversary.
I thought it was really awesome to see Matt Smith and David Tennant together.
Was a bit of a shame the previous actors couldn't be in it, besides Tom Baker.
Any thoughts of the Christmas special and Capaldi as the new doctor?
edit* Sorry didn't realise someone already started this thread. Don't mind me, I'm a noob.
#58053 Comics You're Regularly Reading.
Posted by Wednesday on 01 December 2013 - 06:03 AM in Comics, Books, and Graphic Novels
I've currently started getting into Saga, which is pretty damn good.
I regularly follow Deadpool, web of Spiderman, Avenging Spiderman.
But I also love collecting short series. 1602, Deadpool kills the Marvel universe and Spider-men.
If I can't go into my local comic shop. "My Comic Shop" is a great online seller.

#57974 I fucking love science

Hey.
Humans have trichromatic eyesight. (Three primary colors: Red Blue Green, as we're talking about light).
Some animals (including birds) have tetrachromatic (4 primary colors) sight, and their forth primary color is in the ultraviolet range. Thus that means that there are actually colors out there that we don't see that we may be able to someday through genetic modification.
See, the way that it works is that in your eye you have 3 different types of cone cells, and each process a different color channel, red, blue, and green. Birds have four, red, blue, green, and ???.
(P.S. You just got SCIENCED!)
I was reading an article about this not long and it was about modifying genes to be able to see more colours. There were also studies that some females have tetrachromic vision and it allowed them to see more shades of red, which would normally appear as one colour.

Hello, I'm Wednesday.
I've never been apart of a forum, but I'm hoping to make friends and meet like minded people.
I'm not very good at making friends in real life, so I'm hoping I do better here.
I'm from Perth in Australia.
I just finished my training as a lab technician, but I am hoping to go to uni next year and study chemistry.
I adore sci-fi, I grew up in bush lands, where we didn't have internet or much tv, so I am slowly catching up and would love advise and suggestions on what to watch.
I love marvel comics and independent publishers, not much of a DC fan...but that might change!
I also love cats
