Sadly, I wouldn't be able to wear those.

#53198 These made me cringe so hard.

See, I'm not as knowledgeable about hacking tech, although I know it's not like in Swordfish or anything. But I get how DNA works, and that makes me cringe when I see it in some shows. I don't watch any of the CSI:AKA:IDK shows, but I have friends who do, and when they walk into a room and it's covered in semen, or get a tiny sliver of hair that they run a bajillion test on in less than an hour, I cringe.

Speak for yourself.  I get blow jobs while hacking bank accounts every weekend.

#52734 Change, Obtain or Add a windows User or Password? C#

Because we're tired of answering the same questions.  Go and Google C# Windows APIs for User Account control.  Just realize the user will still have to click "Allow Administrator Access" to let your program do administrative tasks.

And do yourself a favor and read about hashes.  Passwords aren't stored in plain text, so "getting a password" is just a silly request.

#47928 Repeating yourself to a tester is annoying

Posted by Champion of Cyrodiil on 06 May 2013 - 11:31 AM

Tester has been 'testing' the text boxes and ensuring that it will handle +-4000 characters.  This is what they wrote, which I came across in a data report:

Here is another lovely field allowing 4000 characters. It was so much fun discussing things with you in the other field. Shall we commence in this field? I don't want to. Why not? I don't feel like it. Oh, come on. It will be fun. No. Please. No. You know this field needs to be tested in this way. So let's get moving. I said I don't feel like it. Can't you get that through your thick skull! Wow, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, didn't she? Mind your own business. This is my business. So, what's wrong. Nothing, leave me alone. I can't leave you alone right now. As soon as we finish this field then I let you alone. Until thne we need to talk. No we don't. Yes we do. I don't want to talk either. Well, you're going to have to do tomething. You can't just sit there twiddling your thumbs or doing whatever else entertains you. What are you iimplying? Nothing, I'm just saying. You are butting in to my business and remember what we talked about in the last field. When the first process is running and the second process rudely tries to interrupt then the first process becomes angty. I really think that is why the previous field was jumping. I still think it is a alive. You're nuts. Do you see it moving now. I would say no because we aren't actively typing in it. Maybe it's sleeping right now. Sleeping? What planet are you from? Same as you. Fields don't sleep. How do you know? Because, as I have stated before, they are inanimate. You don't know that for sure. Yes I do. Code cna't move on its own. That's not true. Yes it is. Prove to me that it moves on its own. How about computer worms? They move from computer to compter without any interaction. That is because they are written to do that, you dolt! Hey, no name calling. Okay, sorry. We have two thousand eighty seven characters still to type. Okay, let's dig in then. That's what I'm talking about. Glad to see that you are finally on board. Yeah, if it will shut you up. What did I tell you about your attitude? You haven't told me anything about my attitude. Yes, I have. You only said no name calling when I called you a dolt. Well, that's part of attitude. Alright, miss bossy tester. That is uncalled for; but, I will let it slide this time becasue we have a lot of work to do. What shall we talk about? How many characters do we have left to type? One thousand twenty six. Okay. I think I'm all talked out. That's not possible because I know you have a lot of words. What are you saying? I'm just saying that the experts tha women have more words than men. What do they know. They're experts. Experts at what? I don't know but they're the ones who know and that is why they're called experts. Anyway... Hey, wait a second, I don't accept that last statement. It doesn't make sense, (muttering to herself but also loud enough to be heard) 'they're the ones who know so that is why they're called experts'. You have a problem with that? Yes I do. Why? Can't you rest in the fact that they are experts? No, I can't. Who says they're experts? Everyone does. I don't. How does the 'expert' status get assigned? I don't know; but, can we get to work here? No, I want to settle this. There's nothing to settle. They're the experts and everyone seems to get it but you. 'Everyone', I doubt that. Well, they know a lot of stuff so that is why they are called experts. Well, I know a lot of stuff, don't you? Well, I guess so. Then you're an expert. No, it doesn't work that way. You said they know a lot of stuff and that is why they're called experts. So, since you know a lot of stuff you're an expert. Okay, I didn't mean to say experts. How about stereotypically, women have more words than men. Is that better? Can we get to work now? I'll think about it. Thinking is not typing and we have one hundred eighty seve n characters to type. Typing out the number didn't exatly work that time. I noticed. Is that why you left a space before the 'n'. Yes. I was going to say something but I guess it's okay.

Seriously??

#47915 Returning to and Becoming Who I Really Am

Posted by Champion of Cyrodiil on 06 May 2013 - 09:23 AM

I once got a 99 on a quiz/test in the 1st grade for making the number 4 look like the 4 you see in this font. (With the top connected in a point) rather than making the 4 open at the top, like this: %EB%84%A4.jpg

The teacher explained to me that I was wrong for making my number four closed at the top, and that I should lose a point.  I believe this is what made me hate school for the rest of my life.

#44295 Why wordpress/Joomla...?

Posted by Champion of Cyrodiil on 27 February 2013 - 11:37 AM

I have never used Jooma, but I have used wordPress to stand up a site for small businesses quickly.  Most small businesses are looking to integrate with Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and PayPal.  Once you have a wordpress site running (usually on a LAMP or WAMP stack), it is very easy for the client to take ownership of the site and maintain it themselves.  This is an important feature to me.  While I understand there is often additional income to be made from providing support.  I find that I personally do not have the time or desire to 'fix' or update client websites when they need something like a phone number changed.

Wordpress also has the capability to embed your own code if you desire to accomplish something a little more fancy.  Additionally, there is a market for wordpress plugins that provide additional capability.  However, you need to be somewhat savvy when choosing the plugins to install.  Many of them are poor quality and do not add the functionality they claim to.

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ - Currently has 23K plugins
http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ - Has 1.7K themes you can apply to a wordpress site

Also they provide a variety of mobile wordpress sites for different platforms - http://wordpress.org/extend/mobile/

#44112 Email C#: Help Please.

Posted by Champion of Cyrodiil on 25 February 2013 - 09:35 AM

The first thing you need to do is understand the APPLICATION layer of what you are trying to accomplish.  (See OSI Model).
The IMAP protocol already has a predefined methods.  You dont need to read the entire spec, but you should glance through it to get an idea of how it works. (http://james.apache....ap4/rfc2060.txt)

the first google response with looking up c# & imap is: http://www.codeproje...ing-C#_comments

"I have written an IMAP client library which allows basic functionalities like login, select/examine folder, search messages, fetch message (Header, Body), get storage quota, and logout."

From what that comment says, it looks like you need to do the following:
1.) Login(user, password, etc...)
2.) select/examine folder - From what i see in the comments you should be able to obtain a unique identifier (uid) for each message.
3.) fetch message - you will want both the header (to extrapolate sender information) and body.  I believe you will need to use the uid with this method.

I have not touched c# since 2008, and I don't have time to play with the code to create a 'snippet' for you.  nevertheless, hope this helped.
