#109034 The "What Are You Listening To?" Thread

Posted by Cotton Candy Hot Tub on 08 January 2018 - 05:14 PM in Everything Else

I like catchy guitar riffs and heavy, but short solos. I hate growling, but screaming is ok as long as it is not throughout the entire song. Does anyone have any similar band suggestions?

We are the champions by Queen

That song is a little slow for me, but for some reason it always reminds me of high school. I would much prefer a different Queen song. My two favorites are "Stone cold crazy" and "Tie your mother down."

Just started metal detecting. Haven't found anything other than the stuff I put there myself.

#109133 How would you feel if Bioware made a character like this?

Posted by Cotton Candy Hot Tub on 08 February 2018 - 10:41 PM in Everything Else

Nothing would change. There are already plenty of video games with females in the leading role.

1 Beyond Good and evil (2003)
2 Primal (2007)
3 Portal 2 (2011)
4 Lollipop Chainsaw (2012)
5 Life is Strange (2015)

Just to name a few.

#109159 Forever Young?

Posted by Cotton Candy Hot Tub on 18 February 2018 - 12:52 PM in Everything Else

How Old do you have to be before you are no longer considered young? The reason I ask is because I'm turning 25 in a few months and still haven't settled down.

I write songs, not novels.

I just watch stuff on my phone for the most part. The news depresses me and most of the newer tv shows don't even make any sense. I watch DVDs of old movies and tv shows instead.

#109448 Kicked Out By A Jackass

Has anyone here ever been kicked out of a club, bar, store, etc. for a dumb reason or for no reason at all? I want to make sure I'm not the only person who had this happen.

I was feeling very depressed one night and I needed to drown my sorrows in alcohol. I went to a nightclub and I noticed two chairs next to a bar. They were on the side of the bar and not at the front. I went around a black rope that didn't go all the way around the narrow passage. The bartender yelled "No sir!" three times and I finally noticed he was talking to me. I retreated and he yelled "Why the fuck would you cross a rope?!" I simply said I was sorry and he ignored me, then he flirted with a girl who walked up to the front of the bar. I went in the restroom to cry, then when I came out one of the security guards told me I had to leave.

I was in there for less than three minutes. Now I'm so depressed that I don't want to go to any other bars or nightclubs for at least another year or two.

Any cell consists of three parts: the nucleus, the cell membrane, and between the two, the cytoplasm. Within the cytoplasm lie intricate arrangements of fine fibers and thousands of miniscule but distinct structures called organelles. Just remember Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telephase. I can't remember too much else about biology class. I was always a lot better at chemistry.

Yes.
I've had a bouncer come up to me, and say that a friend of mine and I were too drunk and were asked to leave when we were outside having a cig. I was told to go back in to grab her jacket and mine, and I may have gotten swept away on the dance floor before rallying everyone out. I don't remember how that night ended.

At least they let you get your jackets back.

Were you really that drunk or was it something that just happened a long time ago?

Yes. i got kicked off a ride at an amusement park. old crotchety bitch running it, says "DON'T CLIMB UP OR LIFT YOUR FEET. YOU WILL BE KICKED OFF."

whatever. I'm standing with my ankles crossed, and when the centrifugal pressure builds up, it's uncomfortable so I adjust.

bitch stops the ride DEAD and kicks me the fuck off.

I have never been more righteously angry in my life.

Did she at least let you get halfway through the ride?

#109550 Mary Ann or Ginger?

Posted by Cotton Candy Hot Tub on 29 June 2018 - 07:48 PM in Everything Else

Do most men like Mary Ann or Ginger from Gilligan's Island? I used to like Ginger as a kid, but now I am much more attracted to Mary Ann. Not sure why.

I'd say 1/3rd but why does that matter...?

It doesn't really. I was just curious if you were at least able to have a little bit of fun before she decided to go on the warpath.

Has anyone tried the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery game on mobile? I'm kind of addicted to it. Second year Ravenclaw at present. Which Howarts house did you choose?

Do any of you have temp services where you live?

Basically, how they work is they get paid through a company for your contract until the company hires you itself. This is how I got most of my jobs. I quit a lot of those jobs in the past because I wasn't getting enough hours.

There was one company that did give me enough hours. I worked extremely hard there and most of the people I worked with were were very good friends. Even closer to me than most of my own family members. I worked hard and made it to work on time for well over a year. I then contracted pneumonia from breathing all the dust in the place I worked in and because a lot of coworkers were sick. I couldn't move nearly as fast as I could before and the management would make fun of me for it behind my back. I started being late and someone from the temp service threatened to fire me every time that I was. I tried explaining that I was sick, but they didn't give a shit. I was in debt because of all my medical Bill's and I couldn't even afford the gas to get to work on.

I was very depressed and the only thing that could keep me going was my coworkers and one of my supervisors even said that if I could stick it out long enough, he would tell the management to make me a supervisor once he left in just a few more years. Ater two years of working there, they decided to not renew my contract and I was fired. I found out later that a lot of the hardest working people were also let go with no warning whatsoever. To my knowledge, the only people who still work there are the most stubborn lazy people who just goof off all day without hardly lifting a finger for their money in which was more than triple what I was making. I fail to understand the logic in that company and I'm probably never going to find a job that good again.

I just want to say that I really appreciate the people on this website who are understanding and take the time to read such a long story from a complete stranger. It's also a very true one. On the positive side, I do have plenty of other job opportunities around me and i still have ways to keep in contact with some of the people I used to work with there. I miss them like crazy, but it's nice to hear their voice every now and then. I'm also very fortunate to have a private place like this website to let it all out without anyone judging me or laughing while telling me I'm just a stupid guy who complains too much.

Yo, in my opinion, that's the whole point of the forum.

Hey, good for you. And no judgement here. If a situation sucks, it sucks. No shame in venting to a friend.

In fact, please do. Don't keep it bottled up, that ain't good.

I can agree with that. I hope your anxiety situation gets better, homie. Mine will probably last at least until can find a job that's at least nearly as tolerable as my old one.

Are you about to quit your job? What type of new job are you looking for?

#109690 Open your mind to me....

Posted by Cotton Candy Hot Tub on 13 August 2018 - 01:13 PM in Everything Else

That shouldn't be too hard to find. I'm looking for a warehouse job myself. Wouldn't mind dealing with the public though because I've never had a job like that. It would also give me some better understanding about people skills. Need that since I'm socially awkward.

#109714 Open your mind to me....

Posted by Cotton Candy Hot Tub on 16 August 2018 - 05:42 PM in Everything Else

meh..  we are all socially awkward..  thats why this forum exists.

put me down as a reference.

Lol. I would like to put you down as a reference, but I think they normally just want Supervisors and Managers that I worked with on the list.

My main problem with being socially awkward is trying to be funny, until realizing what I actually said had no humor behind it whatsoever. People just stare at me like I said something offensive, then it haunts me for about a week until I have the confidence to get back out of my house again.

#109723 I need to time travel [not joking]

Posted by Cotton Candy Hot Tub on 17 August 2018 - 07:11 PM in Sci Fi

I have two questions first.

#1 What did the time machine look like that you were previously using?

#2 If I hypothetically do have a similar time machine, then would you want to use it to immediately travel back to 2100 or could you also travel to different years with me first?

The reason I ask the second part is because I was thinking about using it to travel to the year 1993 to find out if I was an accident. I would also like to go to the 1950s, 1970s, and 1980s because those were really cool time periods that I was unable to experience.

Ah. It's good to know I'm not the only one who has that.

#109728 I need to time travel [not joking]

Ok. Seems fair enough, but the time machine that I have is unable to travel to another location. It can only travel to different times at the same place. What country are you from? I live in the U.S.

#109729 Who's is your favorite character from the X-Men Comics?

Posted by Cotton Candy Hot Tub on 19 August 2018 - 08:05 PM in Comics, Books, and Graphic Novels

My favorite X-Man is Cyclops, but if I had to choose a female, then I would say Jubilee.

The name X-Men kind of sounds sexist if there are women in it too, right?

#109730 SEGA

Posted by Cotton Candy Hot Tub on 19 August 2018 - 10:38 PM in Video Games

I thought Sega was bought out by Microsoft because the controller for the Dreamcast looks just like the one for the Xbox. Apparently, Sega is a third party company that still makes games. I knew that Nintedo made games with Sonic in them, but I didn't know Sega still made games until I just now looked it up.
