#83820 Scares the Shit Out of You!

Posted by Launch on 26 December 2014 - 09:10 PM in Misc. Movies and T.V.

THIS WAS NOT OK TO PUT IN A MOVIE AIMED AT KIDS:

I also thought the Donkey Kong Country level "Stop and Go" was horrifying.

As an adult, I guess I get really freaked out by anything that involves torture. I just can't do it. People really do that stuff and it just reminds me of how terrible the world can be and makes me want to never leave my bed.

The Wrong Turn movies also get to me. I can't sit through those.

Oh yeah, Outlast is for sure scary! Problem is that it loses stream near the end and the scares stop being effective. They sure turned the terror up to 11 with the Whistleblower DLC!

#83818 Any horror fans on here?

Posted by Launch on 26 December 2014 - 09:02 PM in Misc. Movies and T.V.

I just happened to see a review for an Australian horror movie in the newspaper that unfortunately is playing at a theater that's about three hours away from me. I managed to find it online, though! Really, really good idea, but I so wish they'd shown the monster more. I think it only got a minute of screen time tops.

#83782 THE DEPRESSION THREAD

Posted by Launch on 26 December 2014 - 12:32 PM in Everything Else

"You're so small! You should eat more!" is rude in my opinion.

I live in Minnesota. "Hot" during the winter for us is in the 40s. That's not warm enough to make someone stupid.

#83618 THE DEPRESSION THREAD

Posted by Launch on 23 December 2014 - 11:29 PM in Everything Else

I guess I'm more mad about it than depressed, but I thought sharing might help a bit so I can calm down and go to sleep.

It was surprisingly warm out today so I wore lighter clothing and a spring jacket when I went outside. The heat is usually pretty cranked up at the Super Walmart, so I left the jacket in my car when I reached that store. All I needed from there was some guinea pig food, so I thought I could just grab that and be in and out fast. Nope, someone decided to make a comment on how petite I am, which is nobody's fucking business.

I just said "Yup, that's what happens when you have an un-treatable illness" and walked away.

I'm seriously sick of how ever once and while that will happen. YOU DO NOT MAKE COMMENTS ON SOMEONE'S WEIGHT. You never know why a person might be skinny or heavyset. My mom's weight ballooned after she had cancer. She does the best she can, but is still a bit on the chunky side. People are just so freaking rude.

#83616 Your favourite movies

Posted by Launch on 23 December 2014 - 11:21 PM in Misc. Movies and T.V.

I'll show this to my brother since I always watch stuff with my sibs. It looks great though, thanks for the suggestion.

No problem! Just please let me know if you do end up watching it; I feel like I'm the only person who's seen this movie sometimes.

#83613 Your favourite movies

Posted by Launch on 23 December 2014 - 11:08 PM in Misc. Movies and T.V.

I want to bring up an indie film that I just happened to see one day. I was looking at the free movies the On Demand service had when I was in an extremely depressed state. I saw a film called Wristcutters: A Love Story and thought I would be in the mood for something like that.

Turned out it's a dark comedy. Yes, suicide is a big part of the plot, but it's done in a way that isn't really depressing and is very tasteful. The film is also very honest about it in how people do it for reasons some might think are "stupid", or due to mental illness. But really these are brief scenes and the film centers around three people in a buddy/romance story.

...I'll just let the preview speak for me since I suck at getting people to check things out that I like. Seriously though, please give this film a watch if you have the chance. I really love it.

#83612 Fave Robot Movie? Is it likely to come to fruition or is it simply just fiction?

Posted by Launch on 23 December 2014 - 10:58 PM in Misc. Movies and T.V.

I'm sad no one brought up Short Circuit ("NUMBER 5 IS ALIVE!") or Batteries not Included.

#83604 Would you Guys be Interested in Attending some Streams?

Posted by Launch on 23 December 2014 - 10:16 PM in Everything Else

Where would we have the stram?

What cartoons and movies do you have for stramification?

I'd have to looking for the page they give you to sign up. Basically I fire up that procaster thing and you guys can view and chat about whatever's on my computer screen there.

It's really all over the place what I have for animation. Some Hanna Barbera, lots of stuff that aired on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim, Daria, Clone High, stuff like that. For movies it's stuff like Don Bluth, Iron Giant, Ernest and Celeste, Disney that doesn't have the princess crap. I mostly have older stuff for anime. I think Paranoia Agent would be fun to show.

#83600 What's good to read?

Posted by Launch on 23 December 2014 - 10:10 PM in Comics, Books, and Graphic Novels

I'm guessing they probably made you read it a dozen times like my schools did, but Flowers for Algernon is excellent just in case they didn't.

#83597 AOT or Death Note

Posted by Launch on 23 December 2014 - 10:09 PM in Anime

I've only seen Death Note, but I have to second Attack on Titan from what I've heard.

The problem with Death Note is that it sort of loses steam after a certain shocking moment. It drags on for a bit too long and I know a lot people got bored of it. The good news is that is sticks very close to the manga, though.

#83584 If you could know..

A lot people involved in my favorite movies but, in particular, Thurl Ravenscroft. Doesn't he seem like he was the nicest guy?

#83566 Would you Guys be Interested in Attending some Streams?

Posted by Launch on 23 December 2014 - 04:48 PM in Everything Else

I've been thinking about tinkering with that Livestream program thingy every since I made an account ages ago.

I'm at home most of the time when I'm not working since I just don't have the energy to go out and do much. I thought it would be fun to stream some cartoons/movies that I have if I can get a group together to watch them. I've got a lot stuff, but I thought Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law would be fun to start out with.

What do you guys think? Would you be interested in attending on a weekend?

#83561 Fun, lighthearted shows

Posted by Launch on 23 December 2014 - 04:40 PM in Anime

This is months old, but can I add some suggestions?

Azumanga Daioh is the cutest show ever, but for some reason with a pedophile teacher thrown in there is well. It's a very lighthearted slice of life anime that follows the lives of some high school girls.

Hare+Guu is about a boy named Hare who lives in the jungle. Despite the fact his mom is a floozy, life is pretty good until she brings home a girl named Guu who she found in the woods. Crazy shit starts happening.

Nyan Koi centers around a boy who is allergic to cats. He accidentally breaks a cat statue, which pisses off the cat god, so he's cursed to turn into a cat unless he can do 100 good deeds for them in a timely manner. You can see why this would be difficult. Oh, it's also a harem anime.

#83559 Obviously?Duh!

Posted by Launch on 23 December 2014 - 04:34 PM in Everything Else

When I was a little kid I used to rub my eyes a lot so my mother told me they'd fall out if I kept doing that. I totally believed her, and would even shake my head and ask if any of them jiggled or looked loose.

You know how when water goes down the drain sometimes it sticks in those circular grates for a second? I used to think those were fish eyes looking up at me.

Here's some of my video game stuff. I really need to tidy up, but would anyone be interested if I did a room tour?

#83533 The Interview, pulled because... I DON'T KNOW!

Now Sony's announced that there will be a limited theatrical release of The Interview on Christmas day.

#83530 Fuck Yeah, FNAF!

Posted by Launch on 23 December 2014 - 10:00 AM in Video Games

I won't even if someone paid me to play it. >_________>

...n-no I'm not a pussy

You'll jump like crazy when playing the first one, but eventually it does get old. You won't get nightmares or anything; they're fun scares.

#83501 The Interview, pulled because... I DON'T KNOW!

Posted by Launch on 22 December 2014 - 04:18 PM in Misc. Movies and T.V.

I'm probably talking about things I know nothing about again, but on the theater's side, couldn't they get sued? Since they knew about the threats, but showed the film anyway and something happened, could they be held liable? I was just wondering about that.

#83499 Shit Your Parents Say

Posted by Launch on 22 December 2014 - 04:11 PM in Everything Else

Oh... Ummm... Whoops. I'm kind of a Debbie Downer.

I guess I'm just a little jealous.

#83487 Pets

Posted by Launch on 22 December 2014 - 12:11 PM in Everything Else

Ugh. I have no choice; I have to give Dahlia's fat ass a bath today. I just don't want to get bit in the stomach again ;_;

EDIT: Tried something different and it went really well this time. Her shaggy fur was too icky so she really needed it.

#83483 Shit Your Parents Say

Posted by Launch on 22 December 2014 - 10:20 AM in Everything Else

My parents don't really talk.

...oh :(

I'm in the same boat. My parents divorced when I was almost three and I never saw my "dad" again. A bit over a year ago he dropped dead in an alley while walking his dog.

#83460 Boobs or butts, Pornhub gives us the answers

Posted by Launch on 21 December 2014 - 10:12 PM in Everything Else

I've been sick all day. Super really sick, but this made me laugh, thank

I hope you feel better soon! Hopefully a good night's rest will help.

#83454 "Let's Play"s that DON'T suck

Posted by Launch on 21 December 2014 - 08:56 PM in Video Games

A little bit off topic, but I gotta share this video. I really dig how Rooster Teeth shows off the silly stuff that they do while at "work". I laughed so hard I nearly cried at this:
