Hi all.

 

Any nerds in here who have a girlfriend and can share some good knowledge about how to get one, when you are a nerd?

I don't currently have a girlfriend but I've been known to occasionally offer up some wisdom.

 

 

The easiest way to meet people you would like is to join groups or clubs centered around what you enjoy doing (reading, gaming, sports)

 

When approaching someone you have a romantic interest you should make sure to get across that you are actually interested, not just looking for a friendship. Not to say that a friendship can't lead to a romantic/intimate relationship but that's usually an organic process that has to occur on it's own.

 

It tends to be a bit of a turn off to befriend someone in a platonic way then come out a few months later suddenly expressing your deep and endless love out of nowhere.

That only really works in the movies, and even in the movies it's not believable in the least.

I found someone by simply...not looking, not even trying. It kinda fell in my lap and one day a friend of hers approached me.

 

My advice is always to flash a cute smile but be don't weird about it. Just greet & smile a girl, maybe lay down a compliment and if you manage to get a girls attention for more than 2 minutes keep her hooked by striking up any conversation. The thing to know about MOST girls is they already feel awkward. When talking to boys things like, "am I doing the stupid laugh again" or "did I put on enough makeup o.O or too much!?" and "great I'M wearing the my ASS IS FAT pants." Deep conversations can distract girls from any insecurities -- thus making them comfortable around you. Eye contact, even head bobbing for acknowledgments, and smile every two minutes at least.

 

NO FUCKING SMIRKING. A genuine mid-range smile will be fine. Girls love confidence, not cocky. Attention, not affection. Those come later.

 

My girl only got a taste of my nerdy side, after a few dates of rocking her world I whipped it out. Yeah, I whipped it out good.

 

My card collection. At that point she was so into me it was all, "baby is that all you got?"

 

Then I showed her my comic books, and manga, and...oh god I need to stop. Getting myself excited.

 

Hope any of this helps, and some may disagree but it really comes back to the first thing I said: everyone's different. Confidence and attention is huge though.
