NO FUCKING SMIRKING. A genuine mid-range smile will be fine. Girls love confidence, not cocky. Attention, not affection. Those come later.

Case in point:

 

In high school my now wife was the most shy person I had ever met.

She sat on the outskirts of the table at lunch, spoke only minimally and only when directly addressed, blushed constantly and always broke eye contact with people first.

I got her attention because I put in all of the effort to get her to open up and be herself, which relied heavily on the fact that I was something of a clown in high school.

Being over the top goofy sometimes and directing it at her is what forced her out of shell a bit.

If I can be loud and goofy and not look like an asshole then she can at least talk to people without fearing judgement.

 

I just had to find the right person to compliment my personality, and so did she.

Also, I barely ever smile and have it not be a smirk.

I cant help it, smirks are what my face does best and my wife loves it.
