They can't defend themselves, but they have a very large number of people that care for them who do just that.
What I meant is that given certain events and prejudices toward Muslims, the powers that be are more inclined to stamp out any ill spoken words toward them to save face.
Plus, in this case, the integrity of the rest of the town sort of outweighed the ignorance of one.
I still think a hate crime is a hate crime regardless of who the victim is, black, white, native, gay, straight, political views, religious choice, mental state, etc.
When you start selectively picking what groups to defend from hate crimes you start to get serious issues.
Even if someone is a small minority that shouldn't make it okay to bully and belittle them, I really think the police dropped the ball on an obvious crime like this.
If the woman is willing to mail someone about their child in this way, can you imagine how she would treat her own children if one of them suddenly had a debilitating disability? It's painfully obvious she hates the mentally challenged, and I have to wonder how she'd treat her own child if they had an accident happen or something.

Here is what you do. First you have to recover all your passwords. go on any accounts they accessed. Find his IP. find his location and info by IP, rent a van, get a bunch of your big burly friends, and pay him a respectful visit.

Arm yourselves, Prepare for battle.
it's time for war.
"War against whom" you ask?
these little bastards.
Just look at him, you know that little bastard is plotting against us.
This morning, I woke up and there was none in the house.
at lunch, I went up from the office to make food, and killed 16 of them, and there where still more.
they are expanding their forces at an alarming rate. We heed to head them off before it's too late!
They have sent out scouting parties, and very soon we will have a full scale invasion on our hands.
General Equipment roster:
Know your tools, know your techniques, and survive.
My dedicated research team has also developed some extremely handy technology for use against this dark airborne menace.
our first; Fly "paper"
The second, we call this the funnel.
Our researchers have also uncovered a small number of plants you can bring in that may be able to assist us in our fight for survival.
"Dionaea muscipula" is but one of of a few we have recently discovered.

Looking at his left and right arms, it almost looks like he's balancing on some sort of brace, but then I realised it it was a brace that went up his arms and to the stick, he would fall over soon as he lifted his legs off the ground.
walking with the braces would also be really awkward since you couldn't move your arms.

The ironic thing is that van shown in the image is not an American vehicle.
That van is a Nissan, a Japanese van.
just gotta say I hope he doesn't have a "support American brands" sticker on there.
edit; fixed grammer and spelling and general derp.

That is sort of the goal of stuffing things in to other things I find.
better than being a fudgepacker.
imagine going into a store and seeing a pckage of fudge you probably packed to ship out of the factory. "ey yo gurl i packed yo fudge baby"
