Apparently people don't understand what the word Censorship means anymore.

 

Take the Batgirl cover, for instance: The creators themselves said that they felt that the cover didn't reflect the direction they were taking the story or character and wanted it changed. People's response? 
"CENSORSHIP!!! IT'S THOSE FUCKING FEMENISTS' FAULT! THE CREATORS ONLY SAID IT BECAUSE THEY WERE FORCED AND I'M OUT OF DORITOS AND MOUNTAIN DEW!!!! 

 

Obisdian had a transphobic joke in one of their games, and when people were like (In simple terms) "Hey, that's not cool, man", Obsidian agreed to adress it. People's response?

"CENSORSHIP!!!! NOT LIKE THAT JOKE WAS UNFUNNY, CRASS, AND MEAN-SPIRITED, NO, IT'S THOSE FUCKING THIN-SKINNED FEMENIST BITCHES AGAIN! AND THEIR FUCKIN' TRANNY FRIENDS! Well, it wasn't Obsidian's own joke, but it was a thing on a tombstone by a backer (someone who helped fund the game)

Now, to me, that's moreso unfunny. but I can see why people can be offended by it. The thing that gets me upset is the utter lack of perspective by other people, who CAN'T see why someone would be offended and just deride it as "Censorship"

 

Also...I think I'm going to have to give up on Totalbusicut (A game person who I used to like). He said something along the lines of "If a trans person sleeps with a partner without telling them, that's rape."

I think people were more annoyed by the way the world is leaning toward trying to amend every little bit of anything that might be taken offensively by someone.

So much time and energy is wasted bawking about little insignificant things like that joke, tasteless as it may be.

So little faith is put in the human ability to read a thing and not take it to heart.
