To be honest, we all die, once we're dead we don't know. I don't care if I die so long as it's quick enough that I don't realise. That being said, I'm in a low place right now, ask me in June and I'll probably have changed my opinion.
While this is true, something you CAN learn from the Mayans is their outlook on life.
Life without death is meaningless, death is what gives meaning to life and makes it all the sweeter. Enjoy the now, enjoy every second you can, because the eventuality of death will always hang over your head, and being depressed about it does nothing to sway it's immutable task.
