I'm using it for college projects and I can't deny the learning curve is pretty tough.
The whole engine is amazingly VERY well thought.
Anything in Unreal is there for an actual reason and was implemented one of the best way, if not the best, it could be.
It surely is lots of power put into your hands for free.

It happend roughly ten minutes from the place I study at.
I barely even feel concerned about France most of the time, but these events were dramatic.
There has been this heavy and surreal atmosphere all the week long.
Three terrorists who were involved in the killing got neutralized and killed a hour ago.
One of them is still on the run, a woman, according to the police.
One of my friends was stuck in his house all the afternoon, since he lives where shootings took place, followed by hostages being held in a store.
He already had a hard time handling all this shit, so that kinda sucks. It's a relief that all this shit is now over. It's been a stressing week.
shit shit shit.

Figured out I didn't share this here:
As when I discussed about it with some friends and I'm too lazy to rephrase:
I think Mike Acton sometimes gets kinda extreme in his way of introducing people to his viewpoint around data oriented designs in video games. Just keep in mind that his point here is to seek for the performance and the optimization, thus we're dealing with the very low level parts of a game engine. A game engine as a whole does require a certain level of abstraction, though. Finding a way to strike the balance between an optimized game, targeting a defined plateform, while keeping this abstraction level strong enough to sustain a fast and easy development for the people working with higer level ends of the engine is the way to go, I suppose.
So this one nuances Mike Action's point of view and is also really relevant to my eyes:
Your thoughts?
