#1819 Diablo 3 Beta testers

Posted by Aresem on 07 February 2012 - 03:03 PM in Video Games

No, are there still sign-ups? I may be able to get it to run on my billion dollar broken computer B)

Also, didja happen to sign up for Dota 2 beta? If you have a steam account, I'd suggest it.

#1804 At D&D, whole group finally together

Posted by Aresem on 06 February 2012 - 10:58 PM in Tabletop Games

She was engaged to the dude she showed up with, go figure *foreveralone.jpg*

On the bright side, that meant I could continue roleplaying as usual, since the ring's power is invisibility

The point isn't to excite you. It's a charity... The more often it's happening the better xD The games are bonus incentive, at a serious discount.

One of the members Is apparently a hot chick. UNACCEPTABLE! How can I bring myself to role-play a pixie witch in front of chicks?!

#1769 D&D Virtual Table is in open beta

I was under the impression that a geek was a performer who did vulgar things in a sideshow, and that people started using it as a derogatory term in reference to awkward or unappealing folks, and that it was eventually adopted by the intellectuals and/or fanboys who were tired of letting the term get used against them because they weren't popular.

I'd say what you're describing is an otaku. But then again these are all just slang terms that don't mean anything. In fact, I'm going on Urbandictionary and defining a geek as an individual with wide hips with narrow shoulders.

And it'll be true

This'll be helpful practice for that Beetman tournament I've got coming up!

I'm gonna beet it 'til my hands fall off!

My friend got me to start playing Yu-Gi-Oh, as if it were still popular, through this site.

It's a Yu-Gi-Oh tabletop simulator/deck builder. Not sure if it's legally hosted, but it's got no ads or downloads or anything so it's safe at the very least. Not to mention they're the only ones liable for the site itself.

Entirely free, all the cards available, standard and traditional formats, rated and unrated games available. Got a rating system and leaderboards... my only complaint is that everything is manual so you need to make sure nobody is breaking the rules, and report them if they do. It's just like being face to face with the cards, except not.

Check it out if you like card games and free things, don't check it out otherwise. Just thought I'd throw it out there for you.

Since when does obscurity equal geekiness?

#1643 Minecraft SMP server

Sure can, operator status too! Now you can choose freely between creative and survival, whaetever mood strikes you.

Just lemme know if you have any trouble, I was having some connection issues when I added you.

#1638 I do paintings in free time i have a good title which...

Posted by Aresem on 01 February 2012 - 10:18 PM in Nerd Art

A battlefield after the war. Stormclouds. And lots of crows.

Lol, this.

But seriously, when you say "the K2" I think of that herbal blend sprayed with synthetic bullshit gas stations were selling a while back.

Do something abstract. Don't think of a scene that evokes love and happiness, try to capture the colors and patterns your mind first associates with feelings of love and happiness. Something loud, you know?

That's just my suggestion, though, paint whatever you damn well want to, man ^_^

For sure. End result is better than I expected too.

Low proof, about 7 or 8 I'd estimate, but it tastes like even less, which is what makes all the difference ;)

#1635 There's a new Humble Bundle out right now!

Posted by Aresem on 01 February 2012 - 08:01 PM in Video Games

http://www.humblebundle.com/

Same deal as the Holiday bundle, the games cost any price you wanna pay but you get more (the current bonus is World of Goo) if you pay above average (which is, once again, just under $6)

It's a pretty sweet deal, it's for a good cause, and you get to pick how much of the donation goes to who. Just to clarify, since the website is making it a little ambiguous, this is NOT exclusively for mobile devices! That's just an added bonus, you get access for every platform available just like the last bundle.

Be charitable, get discount games. It's a great selection, and it's too cheap to ignore :D

They're pretty badass. I feel like they should have a little light on top, for superior tinkering ability

#1609 Watching juice ferment.

Posted by Aresem on 01 February 2012 - 02:55 PM in DIY

I think of Jack Daniels when I hear sour mash.

And there's not much of a guide... it's just a three piece wine airlock in a rubber stopper corked into a 64 oz bottle of white grape juice with 1 cup replaced with a cup of pomegranate juice. Yeast added of course.

I picked up the necessary items from the local party store, they carry home brewing supplies. Got the idea from a kit on thinkgeek, just had to gather the reagents, lol.

#1606 Oh, Cracked readers, u so funneh.

Oh, lol, didn't know that one. I just figured it was called "toilet wine"

But nah, no bread, just grape and pomegranate juices and a yeast packet ;) With EMULSIFIERS! For emulsifying I guess!

#1595 Favorite anime style

Posted by Aresem on 01 February 2012 - 11:51 AM in Anime

That's a tough one. But I'd have to say the kind you saw a lot back in 90's with Ranma 1/2 and Trigun and such.

Smells like nostalgia, Cowbro Bebop.

#1592 Oh my sweet baby mother jebus..

What is it? I don't get it.

#1591 Watching juice ferment.

Posted by Aresem on 01 February 2012 - 11:43 AM in DIY

Pruno? I'm not sure. I do know it's apparently called federweisser in Germany and sturm in Austria, though, lol.

48 hour juiceahol. And yes, I think you're right, it's watching the little yeast dudes eat sugar, puff out CO2, and inevtiably die

I am their god of juice.
