Airline food is disgusting :(

Airline food made me so ill on the way to the US that I spent my first night in Chicago deliriously stumbling back and forth from the backthroom and my bed to avoid shitting myself. :D

It gets on my nerves when the people I've got locked in my loft ask for food.

Here's a rant.

I'm a little sick of people at work relying solely on me, because it seems whenever I have plans, someone decides "I don't want to work today, I'll get Caitlin to do it"

My boss bitched me out today because I didn't answer my phone, which was him wanting me to work today because the person who was meant to work just... didn't show up. I was in the hospital where phones aren't really allowed. To add to my frustrations, I had texts from three different co-workers asking me to work shifts tomorrow. One wanted me to do her 6-12 shift, one wanted me to do her 12-5, and the last wanted me to do her 3-10. Of course, the first two I couldn't do because I wasn't home to begin with, but I've ended up having to agree to do tomorrow 5-10, when I really don't feel up to it.

In an additionally frustrating turn of events, I was meant to be working 5-10 Saturday night. So I had plans for the day. But NOW apparently I'm the only person available to cover a series of shifts. The shift I'm working is already me covering for another member of staff, but due to people being ill and having time off booked, I'm working a 13-hour shift on Saturday, 9AM til 10PM. For that same reason I'm also working 5-10 on Sunday, my OTHER day off I had plans for. So in three days I'll be working 23 hours, and my overall paying fortnight will (currently) be 43 hours, assuming nobody else decides to not fucking show up.

The person who didn't turn up today is notorious for it though, so I'm anticipating getting a call-in next Thursday/Friday/Sunday too.

Love the money, but I've got no time to enjoy it and it's pissing me the fuck off.

You have an unusual amount of female coworkers. Or i am guessing based upon how you refer to them each as "her". Also if you have an issue with it tell them to work their damn shift. 43 hours doesnt sound so bad though, at one point I was working something like 80-90 hours a week. That was mildly depressing, though the paychecks made me feel good.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Yeah, we have... 14 people including myself, plus the manager. 3 males (not including manager) and the rest of us are women.

I know I can say no, I just hate the bullshit shaming that goes on when I do.

Aren't you allowed to just tell the people 'Sorry, I'm busy.' or something to get them off your back?

You have the ability to change the situation for the better but you don't do it Cas, basically as Sethre and the others have said, tell them to fuck off, they obviously know they can use you so put your foot down.

I do refuse shifts sometimes, but the main issue is that everybody knows I'm broke; I'm on a 6-hour-p/w contract which isn't enough to support myself, so extra work is a must. It's just getting silly with all of this crap going on, and like I said, if I refuse I get shamed and browbeaten and it's irritating as hell. The only real plus coming out of it is that my manager is pissed the fuck off with the girl who just didn't show up today, and he said he's on the verge of just taking her shifts away and giving them to other people, and if I want I can have first dibs on them on a permanent basis.

I don't dislike working, I just prefer having a schedule that gets stuck to. It seems that whenever I have something important to do, it gets interrupted by work commitments and then it's all shit.

The Rants thread is just gong to become the Depression thread, but with more anger, isn't it?

I thought that too. But being angry is more productive than being mopey

Not if you don't channel any anger into solving the problem causing the anger.

That moment when you feel hurt and betrayed, because he said he was going to sleep so you couldn't talk anymore, but still gets on whatsapp every  5 minutes to chat with someone else.

Okay this one is completely random but I have to get it off my chest because it has been bothering me for months.

.... it annoys me sooooooo much when people park right outside the door of Starbucks (especially bc it is a no parking zone and a fire line) BUT what gets me is 9 out of 10 people are dressed in their little yay gym clothes. So you are telling me you could go to the gym by you cant walk your lazy ass five extra feet from a parking spot?????

Okay i feel better
