Where did Life come From?

I've been just been searching through reems of Wikipedia pages and Youtube videos looking up things to do with the Genesis of life.I was wondering what your opinion is on how life came about on Earth?
I was at one point a Catholic creationist, until I was maybe nine or ten that's what I was brought up to believe so that's what I believed. Obviously once I got into secondary school this was all changed, now I'm an agnostic I don't hold the inherent creation of life on Earth to any god like being, or at least not on purpose. I like the idea of panspermia, i.e. that life on Earth came from elsewhere, for instance a comet might have crashed onto the primordial Earth depositing extremophiles onto the planetary surface, thus giving creation to life as we know it.
how about you guys?

Complex amino acids formed from proteins and stuff which are usually chains of hydrocarbons or something. I think the four elements, carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen, (CHON) have the potential to make the building blocks of life. Of course stars emit these atoms and they are readily available in nebulae. It shouldn't be that hard to create life eventually given the vastness of the Universe.

Maybe we're humans 2.0, there were humans before us but they all became extinct due to a cataclysmic event that knocked us back to the stone age!

That is very possible!
