So I fig it might be fun to all write a story together. Starting off with an idea, and each of us builds to it in any direction. It might help some of you writers with your creative juices, and be just plain fun for the rest of us :)

Since I'm starting the post I'll throw out the first idea.

The story starts off with a very wealthy family eating breakfast at a rather large table

The plump mother took a long sip of her dark red liquid over the rim of a silver chalice. She licked her lips, took another, then said, "My gracious. This meat is soooo delectable, is it not, Lawrence?."

"Shut the fuck up, Vicky," said the young girl slumped over her mashed potatoes. She didn't even try to hide her contempt for the world as she spat hateful words at her parents. "This is probably horse meat. I can still see the marks where the jockey was smacking it. It's tough and gamey and undercooked, is it not, Lawwwwrence?" She rolled her dark eyes as she mirrored her mother's trite tone. It was always, 'oh my,' this and, 'gracious,' that. It was just breakfast, not some party with her bourgeois friends.

The revolution was coming, and Jane wanted to be a part of it.

There are many different kinds of change but revolution it the kind of change that turns the world upside down. So while Jane moved the food around her plate to make it look less without eating any of it she thought about what the next twenty-four hours would bring. As soon as her parents finally left the house she would go out to meet some friends at the library. In her mind a revolution must be minutely planned and perfectly executed.

Before long, a tall, muscular looking man dressed in a business suit walked into the dining room, a low whirring sound emitting every time he moved.

"Good morning, Victoria, Jane," He said in a mechanical monotone as he walked past them to Lawrence.

"Ah, good morning Andrew!" Lawrence said. "What brings you here?"

"Sir," he began. "Last night at the factory, there was a break-in. The rebels, well..."

"Yes, go on..." Lawrence said impaitienly, urging his creation to continue.

"Well, you should see for yourself." Lawrence said, pressing a button on his sleeve, projecting a hologram of a building that was half-destroyed. Lawrence sat in stunned silence, looking at Andrew as if to confirm this was really his building. Andrew nodded. "About half our assault units are destroyed and the place is all but unsalvageable."

Lawrence looked toward his family and got up from the table.
"I'll be right back," He said as if he was trying to hide something. He motioned for Andrew to follow him out of the room. "We have much to discuss, my boy" he said as the two departed into another room.
