#82109 Most played game on steam

Posted by gigatime on 05 December 2014 - 06:11 PM in Video Games

Age of Empires is one of the very very few games I am absolutely obsessed with. I will play a four hour match and be ready to fire it up for the next one right after.

When I was corssing the border back to America I was with my friend Doug. He is 24 and is applying for grad school and is a Biotech engineer. He ended up talking about that game for about an hour comparing AoE to how he does experiments in labs. Of course he also talked about the game in general and the way he talked about it made me think very differently about video games coming from such a smart individual. He played the game arround 2001 and was telling me how on weekends him and his friends would have LAN parties. I was meaning to buy that game, but will probably pick it up during the Holiday Sale.

#82108 Christmas Decorations

Posted by gigatime on 05 December 2014 - 06:05 PM in Everything Else

The hedges at the front have already been decorated with litter and ceramic chocolate wrappers.

Probably bust out the tree a few days before Xmas.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL!!!!!!!!

I was gonna say: what about thanksgiving? But I remembered there are more places in the world other than America.

I used to have a set of Christmas lights to put up in my dorm room but now that I'm sharing a room with my boyfriend I probably won't put any decorations up. I'd like to get a tiny tree and decorate it with nerdy things, depending on how much a tiny tree is.

Why is your boyfriend stopping you? :c  Is he the Grinch?

Yeah, old decorations are kinda creepy.

I haven't even gotten my stuff out of the attic yet.

Yeah we only got ours out because my mom wanted to throw a party while I was gone.

Would be pretty cool if you actually took this somewhere. Do you think you could let me see any of your earlier art?

No-- not worth looking at

#81997 Over the garden wall?

Posted by gigatime on 02 December 2014 - 08:13 PM in Misc. Movies and T.V.

Had know idea what it was. I went on imgur today and on the front page is a Over the Garden Wall gif. So I go into comments to find a source, and it has a 9.2 rating on imbd. So I'm guessing it's worth checking out!

#81994 Ever feel like...

Posted by gigatime on 02 December 2014 - 07:15 PM in Nerd Art

gigatime, thanks. Yours looks like you have potential - even with so few lines, it's easy to complete the image with my mind, to fill in the blanks subconsciously. Have you ever thought about doing art much seriously?

I like fewer lines. I'm not really good with detail tbh. So I just go with few lines and try and make it look decent. I never thought I was good enough let alone confident enough to do art seriously. Even having a tumblr or dA is scary to me because I'm afraid of the outcome. I also don't think many people would support me tbh. My mom was an art teacher but I haven't drew seriously for fun since like middle school. That was 3 years ago and I just started again.

#81835 Freebird Games //VN

Posted by gigatime on 29 November 2014 - 09:56 AM in Video Games

It's totally worth the time, I mean 4 hours isn't to long and you don't need to play it all in one sitting like I did. The sound tracck buy Kan Gao is so good! I love how talented he is with his stories and music.

Hi! I can not stress these virtual novels enough. This company have made 2 of my favorite games. It is worth your time and money, but I am totally sure you can download all these games for free somewhere.

So what are Freebird games?

Kan Gao is the main man behind this company. There goal is "to create a game that takes the player through a story in the form of an immersive interactive show." This company was created 6 years ago by Gao and his idea was to turn his script he was working on into basically a story. "Today their projects cross a variety of genres. our focus is to create a familiar yet alternative take to the classical RPG experience; from our narrative-focused "Quintessence- The Blighted Venom" to the obsccure and interpretational "The Mirror Lied." Presentation, music, and atmosphere are what deliver."

Games/Projects by Freebird games

To The Moon

Spoiler

"To The Moon is an indie adventure RPG, about two doctors traversing through the memories of a dying man to fulfill his last wish"

It's for only windows, sadly, and is 4.5 hours 70 mb. It also has won 5 awards.

A Bird Story

Spoiler

"A Bird Story is an indie adventure short about a simple narrative taking place between a mix of a boy's memories, dream, and imagination."

It's 1 hour long, for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Other Projects that are either short or being worked on: "The Mirror Lied" "Quintessence of the Blighted Venom" and "Do You Remember My Lullaby?". They are also working on another game that follows the same format of To The Moon with the doctors and a persons dying wish.

I highly recommend these games both A bird story and To The Moon made me cry. If you have any recommendations for VNs please tell me!

Not to be negative but this is not my cup of tea >.<

The voice actor kinda gave me a headache. But although the voice acting didn't catch my eye, the art work is different and I like it.

#80875 WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WE'RE A CHILD???

Posted by gigatime on 20 October 2014 - 07:07 PM in Everything Else

whaat? is there a reason? Are dentists known for farting because I don't think I've noticed a smell like that at the dentist.

Idek... That tradition was there before I came to the school. So idk how long they've been saying it. I think it was made 7 years ago when the school was only 4 years old.
