This crap is interesting and I'm not sure why. I loved watching the yeast get to floating itself all around the bottle, then it foamed up out of the airlock, receded, and started flowing a steady stream of gas into the airlock, making the water in it bubble and such.
None of that really sounds interesting, I know, that's my point! Why am I so fascinated by that?

I wanted to know if it would actually teach me anything about how the parts work together, as opposed to just showing me how to build it, so I sent an email and asked. Figured if anybody would know what their product will show me it's them.

I'd make a bunch of impulse buys, some from my thinkgeek list and the rest wherever I see things I want, with little to no thought.
Nah but really, I'd stick half of it in the bank and spend the other $250 on my thinkgeek list. I've convinced myself that's what fiscal responsibility is, only blowing half your money.

There's no reason to learn BASIC, at all. It's a dying language with no merit in the professional world.
Learn C# or Java if you want a job. C++ or C if you want to work in open source, that's pretty much the guide for that.

I'm not trying to work with either yet. The thread was vague, I get that, I get that, so here's what I'm wondering.
Is there anywhere in particular I should be starting to learn this kind of thing, any specific language? I've heard C++ from some people, BASIC from others, and I still have no idea why I'd prefer one over the other.
