#113336 Unrestrained Summer Fun

Posted by Konta on 30 August 2020 - 11:19 AM

Lego don't take up much room, if you can manage that dexterity. It gets expensive quick though.

Yeah. That's pretty much why I made that Lego thread. I eventually decided to put them in a display case, but that takes up a good bit of room too.

My art teachers didn't like my stuff either.

I didn't fit their preferred style so they wrote me off.

Now I design and digitise logos for my own business and create patches as well.

Teachers aren't always the best gauge for ability or talent.

You're very talented too. Maybe I have some hidden talent I'm unaware of that most people previously criticized me for or maybe... just about everyone does, but they decided not to pursue what they enjoyed just because they were criticized by someone who doesn't really know what they were talking about.

My hands shake too much to do any type of drawing or painting. Plus, my art teachers usually didn't like most things that I tried making. Maybe that's only because they never gave me enough time to finish any of the projects they assigned to me. I have thought about building things that have instructions, but I don't have much space to put anything else in my house.

#113234 What Was Your Favorite Thing to Watch When Home Sick From School?

I thought Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends was an underrated show, then I saw Aayla mentioned Lloyd in Space. I haven't heard anyone mention that name in a  very long time. It seems like it used to come on Toon Disney, but I can't remember because it's been so long. I don't think I ever even watched it. Also, I forgot to mention The Twilight Zone.

I use PhotoDirector. It's basically like Photoshop for smartphones and tablets.

Arthur, Blue's Clues, and the local news.

I could have, but I love talking about history. It was always my best subject in school. Geez, I feel old saying that because of how long it's been since I was in school.

#113032 Who's is your favorite character from the X-Men Comics?

Charles X ain't need metal to do that. He could just telekenetically blob up a bite out of a Mott's Snack Pack and nom that shit utensil-free.

He might want to be careful trying that because it could very well be Mystique in disguise as a Mott's snack pack.

#113012 Legos

Anyone else ever played with Legos when they were a kid (or as an adult)? I recently put together a Star Wars set with the help of a freind. I didn't get to play with the Star Wars Legos when I was little because my parents couldn't afford them. At the time, Star Wars merchandise was more expensive because the prequels were still being released.

I'm so glad to see that you're back on nerdforum. Maybe if you can clean up some of the bots, it will encourage people to come back. It was dead without you bro. Yeah. These George Floyd protests are crazy. What's even crazier is the large amount of white people I've seen on social media apologizing for it even though they had nothing to do with it. It's not supposed to be about black supremacy. It's supposed to be about justice for black people who are picked on by the cops.

Animal Crossing, anyone?

Space Camp would have been a well known movie because of its use of robots and 1980s space related topics, but because of how boring the movie actually was, it has a low rating from critics. I don't like most of Disney's remakes and sequels based on "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," but Space Camp actually is broken, so maybe we should give Disney a chance only for movies like that.

I had no idea those existed until now, which is surprising because I'm a big fan of audio books too.

#112354 THE DEPRESSION THREAD

Posted by Konta on 27 December 2019 - 04:52 PM

Thanks guys. You really helped me feel a little better. I'm feeling a lot better now that Christmas is finally over. That was the only Christmas in my lifetime that I wasn't really excited about.

I guess I just needed some encouragement. I spend too much time commenting on things on social media. People usually say mean things about what I comment or they delete something long and thought out that I commented and there's no way I can get it back after all that effort. Maybe I'll be a little more busy once Christmas is over, but I've been off from work for almost three weeks now, so I don't have much to do and I'm running out of money.
