Seems like there are a lot more options for me than I thought, though.  The gtx 660 ti, gtx 760, radeon 7870, and r9 270x all seem like solid enough upgrades.  Not sure which I wanna go with...

The other question I had was if my 2500K would support it... I heard there was some kinda issue with PCI 3.0 and older CPUs?  Maybe I've got that wrong though...

I'm looking at AnandTech, and the 270x seems like a decent bet...

I'm ordering an R9 270X for my soon to be brother in law. If you're on the fence I can furmark it vs. my 7950 (same pricepoint).

Isn't the 7950 over 400 dollars?  I'm confused here.

Unless you're talking about crossfiring two R9s..
