I love how the rivers kinda writhe through the landscape over the years. You think of rivers as being fairly permanent tbh.

I remember in geography as a kid learning about horseshoe lakes being formed from rivers trying to make the shortest path and thinking it must take thousands, if not millions of years. Nope, 30 or so seems to be enough.

Heh, we call them "oxbows" here, but yeah exactly, the way they explained it made it sound like it was a process of centuries/millennia.

Yeah, I think that's the proper term for them everywhere, I just couldn't remember it when I was typing.
