Hello all....
I have just got my first mac and am loving it if I'm honest, but one thing, just before my old PC died I had converted all my DVDs to my external hard-drive, they were all ripped using a bit of ripping software that put them onto the hard-drive as DVD files (they were not compressed at all so sit in the drive as audio and video files)
I now wish to compress them all down to AVI files so I can easily stream them to my front room PS3 and also put them onto my iPad and other devices and so they take up a lot less space (currently there is over 1.25 TB of media!!
Thanks in advance for your help everyone

I'm pretty sure Handbrake will do dvd to avi, and it supports mac. http://handbrake.fr/downloads.php
