Apple Crumble is life. My grandmother makes a mean apple crumble and it's usually about this time, so I'm excited.

My grandma used to make such amazing apple pie/ crumble. My mum doesn't know her recipe which is a shame. Her bakes were just the most amazing things.

I wish I'd had recipes that were passed down in my family.
I never met my father's mother, she died 8 years before I was born.
And my mother's mother was not a nurturing woman.
All I have is my father's pizza dough recipe, and the few things I make myself.

I literally have that, my chilli, my chicken noodle soup, and part of lechon/arroz con gandules that I've never tried on my own.
But I'd be down for a recipe swap if you'd want to.

It depends what food you want to make. Initially I would have said that English cuisine is an oxymoron, but actually we have quite a vibrant number of foods, a lot of it firmly rooted in historicity. A lot of English staples are stews or stew like, something which was important to many households out of necessity from the medieval era right up into the 50s.Are there any English recipes that you can send me? We don't really have finger foods here though. Nothing that I can think of that would seem unusual to an American any way. I would say improvise: make mini Yorkshire puds, fill them with thick gravy, beef cutlets and vegetables, for example.
E: Flippy is right. To be honest Mediterranean, Arabic, Persian and Indian cultures all do pretty good starters. Bruschetta is one of my faves.

I learnedhow to cook from my dad. We don't really have any "family" recipes though. Except maybe lasagna.
I really like to bake. Tarte Flambé and Quiche are awesome.
Also I'd totally be up for a recipe swap.

The closest thing I have to a family recipe is my dad's grandma's recipe for potato skin vodka and her recipe for cabbage rolls.
I even have the giant (probably 50+ gallons) ceramic barrel she used in Czechoslovakia.
My genetic lineage is mostly Czech and Ukrainian so it isn't all that surprising that industrial quantities of homemade booze is one of my two family recipes.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

I only have like.. 3 recipes.
But I will totally whore them out for some bitching baking recipes.
Quiche makes my heart happy.
And lasagna is so friggin good..

Oh man, I'd be up for a recipe swap. I don't really bake much but if you wanna make a stew that will warm your insides for days to come, I'm your man.
Speaking of, I'm getting a recipe for bigos stew from one of my Polish supervisors at work soon and I'm pretty excited. I'm wondering if I need to give him a raise or something if it's good.

Lasagna is not really baking in my oppinion, you just put it in the oven to heat it up.
I really like stew with spätzle. I've been wanting to make that since I got back from Singapore but whenever I hat time I kinda forgot -.-
you could give him food as a thank you

Saturday went to my favorite Mexican restaurant and had tacos.
Today it will probably be a couple hot pockets, I'll have to see what food I need to eat to make room for more junk. It's grocery day tomorrow.

Made my bigos stew with roast tatties. Had a resounding positive response and I even have enough left for lunch tomorrow.
Also on Friday night I stuck two middle fingers up to my monetary woes and took my partner out for a meal. Let it be known, Iranian cuisine is something everyone must try before they kick the bucket.

Thursday night I had french fries. Yes, a huge fuggin' plate of french fries. YOLO.
Friday night I had Salisbury steaks <3 no sides, just as is.
Tonight we had dinner & a movie and decided on the diner for some breakfast. I had my usual build your own omelette w/ sausage, chorizo sausage, swiss & pepperjack cheese w/ breakfast potatoes and toast. Yummy.
Sunday night is up in the air, but it might be turkey loaf! MMMM. Probably will be.
