Went with the Galaxy S5.
Just got it a couple hours ago and haven't done much with it, but will update as I do as with the kindle fire.
I have to say tho, the camera is fucking brillig.
It works just as the Spectrum 2 promised it would.
So, so happy so far. <3

As a former phone salesman... Yeah the S5 is a BADASS piece of tech. The pics and video are excellent in quality, especially with all the different shooting options. They upped the durability in it as well. I still prefer my GS4 Active, however! :-)

I've heard a lot of talk about the S5. Apparently a lot of people hate it simply because Samsung took out the split screen function. 
Kind of a really stupid reason to hate it.
