Hello folks!

 

 

So, a little while back some of you may remember when I asked if anyone had a solution for helping my GF relieve some of the stress of her asthma. Any way, we're looking at buying her a CPAP machine to help her breath. On a daily basis my girlfriend is waking up twice every night from asthma attacks and she's rapidly working her way through the little medecine she has left.

 

Why am I writing about it again here though?

 

Because I'm hoping you a few people on here might be able to help me out with the solution. I am going to put the money I can spare towards buying a CPAP machine, but I still need an additional $200 to $300 to help with buying the damn thing. I understand this is a lot of money, and I'm hoping I've come up with an idea of how I might maybe be able to raise a chunk of that money...

 

By embarrassing myself.

 

I am a 6ft tall bloke, not exactly small by most people's definitions of the word and, though I am not exactly manly, I'd not call myself feminine either. So what better way to raise some money than by dressing up in drag?

 

In the hope of raising some money I am pledging to go full on drag queen, I'm talking shaved legs, beard, arms, moustache etc, dressing up in a dress or whatever, make up, the full lot. An English Conchita Wurst but without the beard and nowhere near as pretty. Any way, I know some people here would probably like to have a good laugh at my expense, so I'm wondering if anyone might be willing to help me by chipping in a couple of dollars so I can buy this machine for my girlfriend and stop her from having these really fucking scary asthma attacks.

 

I'll be taking a fuck-tonne of pictures, providing I can get the funds, and hopefully...yeah...I dunno maybe some people will show us a kindness and have me forever in their debt.

Maybe that will sound dumb, but maybe you could allow donations from nerdforum members. I'm not sure that would get you the whole $200 - $300 bucks you need, though that could be a help..

Well I suppose if anyone wants to donate they can just PM me with the amount they want to send and, if they trust me enough send it to my Paypal. >.<

 

I'm already regretting this, I was extremely sleep deprived when I decided this was the best idea ever. XD

 

e: I'm looking into trying to find a pledge site so people can trust me not to just run off with the money. >.>

e e: A little back story here, the reason I'm not completely funding this myself is because I just had to spend another £500 to get out of the USA in July instead of September because apparently visa expiration is not a good enough reason for a travel agency to change the date of your tickets, even with a fee. ALSO, I have found a cheaper model with good equally good reviews so I'm doing this for $110 now.

e e e: If I can raise the money I'll also be posting a picture of me and my gf with the machine before I do the whole drag shindig. Just so you folks know I'm not a dirty thief who's only been a member of this forum for years to build up trust. Sweet, juicy trust. <.<

Wo, okay I already raised the amount in full and then some. I don't see any point in anyone else donating but this does mean we can buy a better model I think. I'm so happy, I didn't even think I'd get $110. :')

How long do I have for that $1? Because  I just funded a job and won't have donation money until tomorrow or Thursday. >.>

That's really awesome that you got to your goal. I'm glad there were others able to jump in and help you out. I hope that the machine helps your girlfriend with her asthma. Great job at taking the initiative and getting this taken care of for her. I'm sure it means so much to her.

Basically I figured if I hit $200 (which is $10 more) I can get her a slightly better machine, though I'm wondering if it's worth it as the difference seems to be negligible. So yeah, you got a few days to get that dorrar in XD

Well I kinda already feel like a burden on people. Like, the biggest thing for me about all of this wasn't the thought of posting pictures of me in fucking ladies clothes, it was the notion of asking people for money. So I'm just gonna say like, no rush, don't feel obligated to donate anything Danny, I just appreciate the support. <3

Yeah, one of the donors was exceedingly generous beyond anything I would ever have imagined.

I was all ready to make my own dent when I read the top of this thread, then got to the bottom and was sort of like "Oh, okay. Guess I don't get to be a hero."
