Something about this series is freaky deaky! The idea of being so unimportant and powerless I think. The arch-mega titan dude with no skin is a fucking awesome design as well. I know they're showing it on Toonami soon but I realised it's on Netflix so I've been watching it on that, a few episodes in now, so make sure you use [spoiler] tags!

I've rewatched it like 5 times since April began. It's so good. I love it.
I'm also kinda excited to hear the English dubbed version! I know the guy who voices Leon Kennedy in RE6(?) voices one of the characters, so that should be...interesting (cause I love Leon).
I have also started the manga, so I see this progressing badly (financially).

The dub is fucking awful. Not only did they pick some really bad actors to voice certain characters, but the dub itself changed a lot of things. One of the most pertinent being they turned Levi from a dark, brooding and unapproachable character into a goddamn wiseass who casually quips one-liners while doing his killing thang.
They also made the titans themselves sound more like wild animals, which just doesn't fit at all.
Also, some spoileresque speculation.

What I loved about it was how the Japanese pronounce all those European names like Gunter and shit. Man, funny stuff.

No, you know what, I am totally okay with Levi's voice actor. He makes me swoon.
And I need it in English so I can watch it and understand WHILE doing research work. It's all good.
I find the manga a bit difficult to follow though. If I hadn't seen the first bit before reading it, I feel like I would have been super confused with some of the WHOOOSH panels.

Bump...just to say the first lyric in the opening theme sounds like, "do you have sex with the bees and the eagles?"
Cannot unhear.

I stumbled upon this today, felt you lot should get in on how fun this would be if it went places.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

I haven't watched the English dub yet, but I was into the manga and was really nervous about them doing an anime based on it. It's the classic 'they'll ruin my precious treasure!" syndrome. But shockingly, even though they fiddled with the order of how they tell the story, it's pretty close to the manga, and damn creepy. I think the extended action sequences in the manga are sort of unbearable in the early chapters, but are a lot more thrilling in the anime. And it's definitely awesome to hear the (japanese) titans.
Not stoked to hear that they've altered their sounds to sound like animals from the babbling baby-like burbles of the original.

So season 2 was announced for 2016!
For such an insanely popular show, it's amazing they aren't cranking it out as fast as possible, but I'm not complaining. Hopefully it'll be a good quality sequel for the amount of time they're waiting to release it.

They need to give enough time for the manga to build content. It's pretty far ahead as it is, but more would be better.

Plus it's kinda nice that they don't want to just churn out as much as possible and rake it in.

That would make a lot of sense. I'm glad they're sticking to the manga instead of branching off to gain more cash. I'm excited to see the next season.

I've already read the manga version, but I'm wondering how well they'll do with the ova. Pretty confident that they'll do a great job though, considering what the anime is like.

Levi was such an interesting character! I'm really interested to see his backstory in the OVA. I've never ready any of the manga, maybe I should pick it up, especially now that I'll have to wait over a year for any more real answers from the anime.
