So, I'm starting this rather useless thread about the many ways to.. well, anything.

I was sitting here quietly going about my business (Watching TV, pervs! xD) and I suddenly got this major hickup attack.

Personally I can only stop hickups by drinking a glass of water "upside down" -.-

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Hiccups-- the only thing that ever worked was when a stranger in a shop asked me, "What water feeds into the ocean?"

I was like, "...Rivers?"

And my hiccups were gone.

I don't get it either.

The only way i can get rid of mine is taking a deep breath and holding it while pinching my nose shut.

I wait till i cant hold my breath any longer beforw i let go.

This works 90% of the time.

The only way I found to stop my hiccups is coffee. Usually quickly drinking a small cup would work.

Rub ice along your chest and drink cold water. The chill will stop you diaphragm from spasming, which is the cause of hiccups.

But there are many places that sell cold drinks and thus have an ice machine on premises. I guess if you get hiccups on a nature hike you're fucked.

I picture a (blue) chair fallen over on it's side, and in my head I try and stand it upright without it falling back over again. Tends to work.

I read somewhere that they suspect that the reason we get hiccups is because of some teeny tiny part of our brain that is a remnant of when we were fish type monsters without the ability to breathe air, and the spasp is that part of us panicing because it thinks we are land drowing. Which falls in line with the diaphragm spasm activity.

The last time I had the hiccups was when I was maybe ten, possibly eleven.

Which was fifteen or sixteen years ago depending on which is correct.

I don't remember what they feel like, and don't expect to ever get them again.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

None of the stranger cures have ever worked for me, but I like when my girlfriend gets them because it gives me an excuse to scare her.
