Smoking seems to be really common problem no matter where you go in the world.

Whether it be nicotine, weed or crystal meth, inhaling smoke into your lungs is bad :)

Anyway I've created this thread because I'm giving up smoking.

I was coughing up yellow mucus and I found that I was running out of breathe unusually fast when I  would skate.

So from yesterday forth, THE ROB$TAR SMOKES NO MORE........

I'm actually surprised by how I'm not craving a joint. I'm craving chocolate instead, so that must be working as a distraction for my mind. I think this is going to be pretty easy...... I'll see if I'm still pumping come the 6th day lol

Anyway, anyone else smoke? Anyone else quit?

SHARE YOUR STORIES NERDS!!!!!!

You could just vape instead if you're worried about it.

Was thinking about it aye, but they cost like $230. I think it's time for a break tho. I just realized that I've been stoned everyday for the past month and a half. lol No wonder why I don't have a girlfriend LOLOL

Smoking is such a bad habit. I wouldn't recommend starting. I actually haven't had a cigarette before, I've smelt it, but never even had a puff.

You can FUCKING do it!!

I started smoking at 14.

Took me 24 hours, cold turkey.

I am the only one in my family who doesn't smoke. My mom, dad, sister, and brother all do.  Cigs, mainly, but weed too (particularly my dad and brother).  I respect that they can live how they want, but I love them so I still harass the crap out of them to quit.  Stay strong, dude, you can see it through.

It really depends on what you want, though. Yeah, a volcano runs ~$200, you can get a magic flight box for $130, or you can get one that you have to use a butane lighter with for $50 and under.

But yeah, if you're smoking all day erryday a break is a good idea. :P

I've smoked on and off my whole life (from 16 on up) but I finally quit about 3 or 4 years ago.
I had need trying to stop for some time --it was getting too expensive and I hated the way it made me feel.
I was dragged out and weak 24/7.
I was in a period of unsuccessful attempts when one evening after Easter Sunday dinner my former brother-in-law started having severe chest pains, doubled over grasping his chest, couldn't breathe, and was turning beet red.
It took the pleas of both my sister and myself to get him to go to the hospital and get checked out.
They kept Him overnight and told him he had a "cardiac spasm".
When my sis and I left the hospital, I went to Walmart and bought some nicoderm gum and patches.
The gum made me sick to my stomach--too strong--but the patches worked.
The older you get, the harder it is to stop, so do it while you're young.
And really the first year was the hardest to get through.
I had cravings for the longest, but eventually it stopped.
I also noticed that I started dreaming again; I'm guessing that in my system nicotine was blocking my dreams somehow.
Weird, I know.
I'm not exactly the healthiest person on the planet, but I do feel a lot better for having STOPPED smoking.
And I have no inclination to do it again; the hacking and coughing is just not attractive.
And my former brother-in-law?
He still smokes.--I just don't get it, but it's his life to destroy.

It's been nearly a week and my lung capacity has improved dramatically.

Had a weird dream that I found a rubbish bag full of weed. I was so happy and when I woke up and realized it was a dream.... I was really sad LOL

Well good job for keeping at it mate. Contrary to me earlier post, it really can be a hard thing to do, especially if you're smoking fags as well. I was lucky in that I probably never smoked more than a pack or so a week. I remember taking a nicotine pill at Sixth Form from another one of my friends who was quitting smoking (this was after I quit) and it made me feel so abhorrently ill from the high nicotine dosage I had to walk home half way through the day feeling sick.
