This will be a dark topic.

 

I haven't watched the human centipede, but I've read about it.

 

Now it haunts my mind. I'm really scared it might happen in RL one day. I'm scared of it happening to me or to anyone, and I can't deal with it. How do I deal with these issues guys? It's hurting me inside.

I wouldn't worry too much about that happening to you. It's a horror film, it doesn't happen every other day

 

My 'fears' (more like just uncomfortable-ness) are gore, puking, and for some reason my belly button. I can't stand letting anyone near my belly button, which kind of sucks because I've been working to lose a few pounds and think a piercing there would be pretty okay.. As for the puking, I had a bad incident after having oral surgery done. But these things don't keep me up at night, terrified they may suddenly happen.

 

Everyone (okay, maybe just me) checks the shower curtain to make sure there's no murderers and hides under the impenetrable force field that is the blanket when it's the dead of night, but in the end we know these are irrational. If you're losing sleep because you think someone's sick idea of a film will suddenly become real and you will become part of it, perhaps you should speak to someone about it..

I never wanted to check out that movie. It's not a horror movie that ever stood out to me. Watch another type of film if you're still haunted by it.

It's not a horror film at all, it just tries to push the boundaries on what humans find acceptable to broadcast. It's just endearingly termed gore porn isn't it?

I was going to say that although I havent seen the human centipede (nor do i want to), it makes me think of movies like Saw and Hostile.  "gore porn" is the best phrase I have ever heard to describe it.  I always try to hold my tongue when a Saw fan starts talking about how great the plot is, provided that you watched all 15 movies.  Offensive conversation is something I try to avoid unless I'm drinking.

 I had nightmares after HEARING about Saw.
Fuck that, no thank you.

I am also the type of person who is kept up at night scared of things... I mistakenly looked into the plot and basis of Earthbound... Never have I made such a mistake.

In terms of advice, try the Eye Bleach thread. Flood yourself with good to wash out the bad. Watch something pure, like Shaun the Sheep, Wallace and Gromit, or Hamtaro.

Yep, 'gore porn' fits. And I just looked into info about the movie.

The very first Saw movie was good.

It was new, twisty, and yes it had an enjoyable amount of gore.

The rest of them are nothing more than gory money making ventures that wish to push the boundaries of censorship.

 

I haven't seen the human centipede either, and have no intentions to do so.

I think it is a bit pointless to watch something just because it is gross and edgy.
