It looks like the thumb trackpads would wear out very quickly compared to thumb sticks.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

How do you compare the two?

Well a thumb stick is a plastic toggle attached to a plastic peg attached to more plastic and circuitry.
From the looks of those track pads they are a fair bit less sturdy in the way that they are attached.
Not that they won't do the job, I just think that repeated pressure, pushing, dragging, tapping, scraping might wear them out faster than a simple stick with a pad on the end.
I have to routinely repair my xbox controllers because the thumb sticks wear out from how hard and fast I push them around, so were I to use this controller I would apply equal pressure and force to the track pads, which appear to be a bit more fragile.

While playing video games, i always have to remind myself that it takes far less effort to hold/move the stick (ps3/xbox) than the amount of effort i'm applying.

Me too, but sometimes the game is far too exciting to control my hands.

Yeah, the strip clubs in GTA V are my favorite part too.

I was not expecting full on topless nudity.
Pleasantly surprised I was.

I can imagine it was.
