The rum got too hot on the back porch and made acetone instead of alcohol.

 

Back to mead, and back to inside in the AC.

Affray you start making home made maple syrup make sure to let us know. I would buy some to try it, real maple syrup is awesome.

Yeah, that's what I figure. I did get a condensing coil made though, so at some later point I'll try distilling again.

I guess you wont have to worry about the over heating byproduct, "wood alcohol" with freeze distilling.
