So just bought my lil brother one of these http://www.wayfair.c...CFQSg4Aod0mQAaw because he wants to learn, so I'm gonna teach him. Got me curious what equipment do you guys have laying around? what have you used in the past? What you want to get?

Mighty horse rocks, he rocks the fat ass.

I used to have a violin

I really want a drumkit, but no where to put it.

I'm mostly a vocalist though, but I have shitty microphones I use for practice so, I don't know if I'm getting any better.

Because I can...

yeah I got mine for my 5th birthday, sister was on the piano, I got the guitar.

In the picture from right to left: Alvarez steel string which I got for my 18th, Gibson 12 string which I bought from my sisters boyfriend, Dean (Dimebag MV series i think) got this as a present from my grandmother ages ago. Last is the valencia. Owned a 3 other guitars when I lived in the middle east but I left them there when I came back to Australia. 2 nylon and a steel string made in Machane Yehudim and one was a beautiful Nylon that was made in an Arab Shuk, fell in love with it and had to get it. It eventually got run over by a humvee I think. I wasn't going to bring it back anyways so it wasn't to much of a loss.

I have an accoustic guitar, I'll take a picture later.
Had the strings reversed, because I'm left-handed.

I own... ~deep breath~

One Jackson electric guitar (*sexy* action on that thing. The tone is great too. Not too much treble; well-rounded), one Ibanez Artcore semi-hollowbody (for jazz. Again sweet tight action, beautiful well-rounded tone),a Michael Kelly fretless five-string fenderstyle acoustic bass with dragonfly inlay (in Minnesota), a Gibson Les Paul Studio (in Minnesota), an ol' Peavy Raptor (my first guitar; in Minnesota), a pod-xt live pedal set, a Steinberg CI2 USB audio interface, microphone (I don't remember the model, but I did some research and found one that had a pretty good all-around frequency response), Behringer studio headphones (which I frequently abuse for gaming purposes, even though I bought them as studio headphones), and for recording, I use Reaper on my laptop. For my drums, I program in MIDI with Toontrack, specifically the Drums From Hell plugin.

It's kinda a bare-bones recording setup, even if it doesn't sound like it on paper. It's nice and portable.

Oh! And I have a lil' Peavy practice amp, as well as a half-stack with a Line 6 Spider head, on a Raven cab. For when I need to be loud.
