I mean, any system can be adapted to two-players, right?
Storytelling systems with fewer numeric rules seem to lend themselves to it a little better. Like FATE system, which is free on the internets.

I don't think he needs to be immortal. I think all he needs to do is to write the right story. Because some stories [i]do[/i] live forever.
