Disappointment! That voice from the trailer is totally GLaDOS from Portal. My favorite killer robot.

Is there a reason the voice sounds just like GLaDOS?

They used the same voice actress.

Well I mean, obviously, but they didn't have to make the voice so similar. I'm assuming GLaDOS's voice would have some heavy editing or filters or something, so to have it pretty much the same makes me wonder if there's a reason, if they were influenced by the character or what.

They say that the creators of the film wanted it to be a throw-back film inspired by killer robots and monster movies.
I think it was intentional.

They did a pretty good job.
I'm interested to see it, killer robots are pretty cool, as long as they stay improbable in real life.

A few things:
- Giant robot/humans battling aliens from the sea and it doesn’t rip off beloved childhood cartoons/Milton Bradley games? Sold. (But Rihanna had better not be in it.)
- In the robots, they used the piloting method from Mobile Fighter G Gundam. Sold.
- That punch where the back of the elbow gets all charged up? Big O. Plus, robot water battle? Sold.
