So I got into gaming very young. My first consoles were a Sega Genesis and a Super Nintendo. I remeber hours of Sonic The Hedgehog,Super Mario Bros. and X-Men. Now we are in the 7th generation and slowly approaching the 8th.
The only 7th generation console I owned was a Xbox 360 and I had some good times with it.I began to think about the console race though...Is it really worth it? I owned a Sega then bought a PS1 and a PS2 then an Xbox then a 360 and a Wii...Each console cost a pretty penny and it was only a few short years before the next one came out.
Now the 7th generation has lasted the longest and may even see another 2 or 3 years,Not counting the OUYA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouya) and Wii U (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_U). Still I find that the console race just isn't worth it. Even with backwards compatability.
Which brings me to my point! How many of you console gamers have thought of switching to PC gaming? Or how many of you dabble in PC gaming but are looking into it more seriously? With the advance of F2P (Free to play) games and games like WoW leading the way in P2P (Pay to play).
I'm a gamer at heart and it's all I really know. I just wondered how many of you felt as I did about the console race.
Here is another article on the console race..If you would like to hear another opinion.
