A little while ago (couple years,) I tried to learn Python... I bought one of those books with the animals on it (can't believe I forget what they're called now...) but anyway, it was too difficult for a weak-minded earth mortal such as myself, and so seeking help from my peers (people I met online,) I was told to start smaller.
So I learned HTML, CSS and PHP.
Am I ready for Python yet? What books or tutorials should I use? Or should I try learning something like Java first?
Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the help!
And I learned PHP from the under-rated Head First PHP & MySQL and also the immensely helpful W3School (http://www.w3schools...php/default.asp)
Even after learning from all that, I still don't feel I'm finished learning PHP, so when I find more helpful tutorials, I'll PM you if you're interested.
As a bonus, TheNewBoston has some very useful and comprehensive video tutorials: http://thenewboston....list.php?cat=11
Hope that helps!

If I might add, you should look to get some work experience with a programmer or follow a freelancer a bit if you want to learn a programming language. I interviewed a man named Graham Hobson, he founded a company called Photobox which went on to acquire Moonpig for an enormous amount of money. His company is based entirely on line and he really stressed that the best way to learn any programming language is to shadow an actual programmer. I learnt more python in one hour of watching a friend on Skype than I did in three weeks of reading books.
Ask for my discord/Insta/Tumblr if you want.
