You could try looking into one of the Trekkie religions.
Huh, Trekkie is actually recognized as a word by my spell check, and I've never added it...

I would lean toward Jedi if anything.
It is focused on the bettering of the universe through the mastery of the self.
You can't go wrong with that.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Here are a few examples:
+ God is real because I can feel it.
+ I'm a girl. Honest.
+ No I really, am a Nigerian prince.
+ I promise I won't put these pictures on Xvideos.
+ Of course I know what quantum physics is.

Can confirm, am Einstein.
Back on topic, pick a religion from an old jrpg, preferably one with dragons.

OK, truth time; I think the only jrpg I've played is Final Fantasy 97 part 2, or whatever. Can confirm, am Einstein.

I didn't finish it because the girl with the pink hair was so friggin annoying that I wanted to beat her to death with the controller. :|
And listening to her completely emotionless sister during the cut scenes wasn't any better.

Lucky for you that was the worst of the series. Bad news, you didn't play them when they were relevant and are probably too spoiled to enjoy the classics. 6 is my personal favorite, back when story was what sold a game.
You should worship Nyarlathotep, like I do. She seems like a fun fellow.
Crawling chaos!

I don't even remember if they had rpgs back then. Not that I got to play much of anything that wasn't in an arcade or a friend's house.
But yes, I do like nice fancy graphics & such.

Talos the mighty! Talos the unerring! Talos the unassailable! To you we give praise!
We are but maggots, writhing in the filth of our own corruption! While you have ascended from the dung of mortality, and now walk among the stars!
But you were once man! Aye! And as man, you said, "Let me show you the power of Talos Stormcrown, born of the North, where my breath is long winter. I breathe now, in royalty, and reshape this land which is mine. I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you."
Aye, love. Love! Even as man, great Talos cherished us. For he saw in us, in each of us, the future of Skyrim! The future of Tamriel!
And there it is, friends! The ugly truth! We are the children of man! Talos is the true god of man! Ascended from flesh, to rule the realm of spirit!
The very idea is inconceivable to our Elven overlords! Sharing the heavens with us? With man? Ha! They can barely tolerate our presence on earth!
Today, they take away your faith. But what of tomorrow? Do the elves take your homes? Your businesses? Your children? Your very lives?
And what does the Empire do? Nothing! Nay, worse than nothing! The Imperial machine enforces the will of the Thalmor! Against its own people!
So rise up! Rise up, children of the Empire! Rise up, Stormcloaks! Embrace the word of mighty Talos, he who is both man and Divine!
For we are the children of man! And we shall inherit both the heavens and the earth! And we, not the Elves or their toadies, will rule Skyrim! Forever!
Terrible and powerful Talos! We, your unworthy servants, give praise! For only through your grace and benevolence may we truly reach enlightenment!
And deserve our praise you do, for we are one! Ere you ascended and the Eight became Nine, you walked among us, great Talos, not as god, but as man!
Trust in me, Whiterun! Trust in the words of Heimskr! For I am the chosen of Talos! I alone have been anointed by the Ninth to spread his holy word!

Sweetheart, I grew up back when you were the shit if you had an nes.
I don't even remember if they had rpgs back then. Not that I got to play much of anything that wasn't in an arcade or a friend's house.
But yes, I do like nice fancy graphics & such.
RPGs have been around since the spoken language came about.
Big hit from what I gather.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

'Oog want be paladin.'
'No can. Oog charisma too low.'
'Oog think Crow bad DM.'
And then Oog bashes in Crow's skull with a club made of calcified lizard poop. He then carries off Thooga, Crow's sister, for a night of sticky snoo snoo.

I have a few options for you:
Blood for the Blood God,
Skulls for the Skull Throne!
That is Khorne. He likes you if you kill people. Nurgle: The Great Unclean One, Tzeentch: Changer of Ways, and Slaanesh: Prince of Excess are all also from the same mythos.
Nyarlathotep is a god from H.P. Lovecraft's mythos as are, in no particular order: Cthulhu, Hastur: the King in Yellow- also known as He Whose Name Shall not be Spoken, Azathoth: The Eater of Worlds, Yig, and many more.
Ia! Ia! Shub Niggurath! Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young!
Because if you don't do it, who's going to?
