Anyone have any really good animes like SAO or Accel World? Dubbed animes would be ideal because I only watch anime when I'm doing other stuff, so trying to read subtitles and do other things doesnt work out... >.>

Beck is pretty good, its about a start up band and the English dub is great. Its got a more realistic style to it though.

Cowboy Bebop is older but its definitely worth watching.

Fullmetal Alchemist is great too. There's the first series, then a second series called FMA Brotherhood which was like a redo that more closely follows the manga. Brotherhood is best *cough*

I dont know if K-ON has a dub but that's pretty good for visuals. There's not much of a story, its just cute girls doing cute things but its still worth watching.

Steins;Gate is the best. I bet you would like it but I'm not entirely sure if its been dubbed. Its been out two or three years so it may be.

Not to cause Anime World War 2, but neither SAO nor Accel World could be considered a 'very good' Anime, unless there are atleast 3-4 levels of anime quality above it, then I guess it could be called something like that.

Also how can people watch dubbing over subtitles for any reason. I mean even if it IS a very good dubbing, it still can't translate all the plays on words and just doesn't feel the same. Unless of course it's 'American anime' that was made like that from the beginning then I guess you aren't missing anything (Good ol' Avatar the Last Airbender)

Sorry about being whiny, it's just my little rebellion against all these hypetrains and stereotypes that make little sense to me. Anyway, I think what you're looking for is an action-packed shounen, preferrably with RPG/gaming roots. Frankly there isn't any new Anime that would fit this description and be very good though. Did you try Kill la Kill? Or maybe sports Anime? Back in the day I was super anti because of all the IRL hate for sports, but in Anime it's pretty damn exciting. Kuroko no Basket is a popular choice right now, but I still find Hajime no Ippo the best currently-airing shounen, easily. There's also Hunter x Hunter but it's not exactly new, but still on-going and not sports-based.

Yes. I'm trying to watch the .hack// Trilogy.

It's relatively complex and difficult to grasp the gist of the story.

It's visually spectacular nonetheless :)

If you have a working PS2 don't do it! .Hack//G.U which is a 3 part game with the same plot as the Trilogy movie, and while the gameplay is fun in itself, revealing the plot step by step makes it all that better. So if you have that choice, just play the game.

Thanks for the suggestions. Been on a HUGE gaming grind right now. Started 2 characters on the new game I'm playing and they're both max level now. >.> No I'm not addicted...

Ok, maybe just a little.

Don't bother. I give a speech close to this at the end of every season. SoA is the new flavor, it appeals to the highest amount of teenagers so it gets the most chatter. And no one around here watches Kill la Kill, and I hate them for it. Nudity is power! Sexy is strength! Fanservice fuels that shit.

Seth, have you watched Full Metal Brotherhood like Kitty suggested? Because that is 100% what you would enjoy. The dub is great and the action is cool. Also, there's anime going on right now that you'd enjoy. Mahou Sensou and Noragami are right up your alley. Sub'd though.

You all should be watching Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!  It fucking runs on Moe. Vanishment this world!

You know, I skip 95% of fanservice/ecchi based Anime (as they all go down to the same level of repeatiness), but in KLK it's so much better when the MC is very self-aware about that nudity and there's a proper reason for her to accept it. Also all the damn parody, comedy and out of space action scenes! Yumm. Reminds me of Gurren Lagann, just without mechas and on steroids.

So I just have one question: what sparked Anime World War 1? :P

I can understand wanting dubs over subs. While the Japanese do put out higher quality voice acting, I tend to like best what I saw first so I actually enjoy the dub of a lot of older anime that aired when I was a kid. It just doesn't feel right watching Cardcaptor Sakura in subs where they say Sakura /correctly/. Cowboy Bebop too, I'd rather watch in dub. I noticed this in anime club as well, during member's choice night those who request an older anime that they saw as a kid also request the English dub. Sethre also mentioned doing other things while having anime running, with subs your attention has to be on the screen always. Sometimes even taking in the artwork can be a bit difficult if your eyes are always at the bottom of the screen.

Oh I did, that one day when I said I hate NGE for being a senseless piece of crap. Before I knew it there was US and Japanese army at my front door. More information is confidential.
