Post up a video

Anytime I try to post up what I'm listening too, only a link comes up. I've had trouble doing this in other forums that I belong too and can't ever seen to do it right. I try to post up what I'm listening too under the thread but only the link appears, not the video itself. Am I doing something wrong? So confused right now, haha!

If it has "https" rather than "http" it won't embed, I believe.

If you're using youtube, the "Share" link will auto convert to an embedded player when you post.

If you've got a youtube video, simply copy the URL (e.g. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=06kXXJUddHQ) and wrap it with the youtube bbcode.
 
So, for example,

{youtube}http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06kXXJUddHQ{/youtube}

(replace { with [ and } with ])

Final product results in

There's also the media tag which will let you post flash content from some sites.

edit: I've made a tiny update, just pasting in the link for a youtube video should work now.

Yeah, I have to do it the same way Emo does. I tried using the share link and the embed link but nothing worked. So I have to use the <link> code.

You have to use the share link, not the watch link.

Even using the share link doesnt work for me. I have to add <video link> to be able to post a video. 

The way I do it is just post the link in the address bar and it auto-converts.
