I'm on a scaring-the-shit-out-of-myslelf binge (rather akin to cutting myself except slightly more damaging), and I wanna know:

What (in video games, movies, television, whatever) scares the ever-loving fucking hell out of you?

The Clock Tower series of games were pretty damn scary when I played them originally. There's one part where this monster with a giant hammer smashes a blind girl down the stairs and you get to watch him crush her over and over, blood spurting everywhere, etc.

Then it spots you and FUCK IT RUN

Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

The sequel (nearly spelt that as squeal, ironically) isn't a horror though. =/

Putting THAT game in my #nope file.

Clockwerk from Sly didn't used to scare the shit out of me. Now he really, really does.

And FUCK RE-DEADS.

I didn't find Amnesia that scary, really. It relied more on jump scares than any real psychological terror.

I'm a scaredy-cat when it comes to games. My boyfriend once encouraged me to play Dead Space. I didn't get very far.

I really like creepy pasta though. Scary stories are the best. My favourites you've already read probably, Pokemon Creepy Black and Ben Drowned.

I'm a scaredy cat, Amnesia scares the crap out of me and so does Slender... But I do like Amnesia, it's a fun horror game.

Any video game that makes you swim.

Absolutely terrifying.

I will throw down in fisticuffs with a horde of zombies, or wage war against a massive alien fleet without breaking a sweat.

But make me swim, even in harmless scenarios, and my skin crawls and I panic on the inside.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Are you afraid of drowning?

This, one hundred percent. Horror movies are my favorite genre, I've played every survival horror game since the 1st Resident Evil came out, but when I had to get the damn star from the tail of the eel in Mario 64 I nearly shat myself. And the loch ness-eqs dino in the mines later in the game, a harmless critter, mind you, freaked me out. And the sewer level of Shadow of the Empire? Hardest boss to me on the 64.

Water is spooky and cold and you can't breath in it and sea monsters live there and they want to eat me. On land, I can punch or run away from stuff.

This is especially true after having to get past the part in Amnesia where theres a giant invisible monster in the water that chases after you.

For some reason creepypastas work really well on me. Like whenever I read one I feel like I'm being watched by it and I don't know why, because I never get that feeling from movies or video games.

Even if I'm writing a creepypasta myself I start getting paranoid. <.<

Nothing scares me now, I absolutely live for horror.

However, when I was little my brothers used to play Doom, and I would watch. It scared me so bad, but I watched because I was too scared to walk away (in case a pinky demon was around the corner. (I know they're not called pinky demons, but I've taken a liking to the name after playing Doom III, which I wasn't a fan of). So, they would die, and leave me alone in the room with the tinted screen and the bloody Doom Guy face at the bottom and a pair of hooves stomping around right in front of me, and the music going all "duhduhduhduhduhduh duh duh duuuhh" and it gave me horrible, horrible nightmares. I finally got over that shit when I was about ten, and I played through and beat most of the Doom Games. I adore them now. Just not the disappointing movie.

Another one that I got over late was the opening to most Sega games. We used to play Sonic and Earthworm Jim and all that, and afterwards everyone would leave except me, because it was my bedtime. Our fucking Super Nintendo would turn on all by itself, and it would always bring up that "Seeeggaaa" screen. I would cry so hard, I was too scared to shut it off. So, the Sega opening made me cry up until I was about 10 and I realized that it was not scary.

So, yeah.

The only thing that repeatedly scared me were the black zombies from Garry's Mod (Half-Life 2). Well, I guess it would be disgust. Either way, for about a month, anytime I looked at them, all I saw was gang rape.  There was another thing, but I forgot it. Or did I? Was there even anything that ever scared me? What is scaring? What is anything? Do I even exist? Does anything exist? Can anything exist? Is existing even an option? What are options? Are our lives already decided for us?

Oh Yeah! The other thing that scared me were the dementors from Harry Potter. But that was when I was a small child.

Your SNES was indeed possessed, or very confused. Kill it with fire.
