However, the one thing that's pissing me off are the subtitles. Not so much through mistranslation (though there's a couple), but more because Lelouch keeps calling it "Geas". Bitch the title uses two s' why the fuck aren't you?

But yeah, I decided to watch it because I've ran out of anime to watch (nothing upcoming I really care about, and no matter how much I love them, I can't rewatch SAO or KWZD? yet considering I'm probably into 20x for each now) and I remembered this being recommended to me once, though I never bothered because it sounded like a weird premise. I'm also kinda pissed because the theory behind it is almost exactly the same as a story I've been writing, all the way down to Japan being carved up into sections by the invading forces. Bah.

But yeah, good show. Oh, another thing that annoyed me but is story related so spoiler away

Also I realise now I've played a hentai game where Karen was the starring attraction. Up until now I thought it was a new art design for Akiza from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds >.>

Dunno about the sub, but geas is how it's spelt. It's Irish magic that curses and empowers folk heroes, forcing them to do certain things by witches. Think Macbeth, where he couldn't be killed by man born from a woman. He's immortal, in a way, yet

Spoiler
Writers in the renaissance loved that kind of crap, good way to start a story.

I never watched the sub, but the dub was decent, I don't often say that. Lulosh was played by Vash the Stampede, which was different. The whole thing comes off like a Japanese man who read too much Shakespeare and decided to make an anime. Also, they don't know how to fucking play chess.

For some reason this discussion of manga Shakespeare reminds me of this video where David Tennant explores a shop full of Hamlet stuff:

I don't remember a whole lot about Code Geass, I watched it a few years ago and I have awful memory, but I remember it being really good.

I checked out the manga Shakespeare site. It reminds me of those educational video games parents and teachers try to get kids to play and the kids resent. I like it, though. Especially if they use the exact verse. Although Taming of the Shrew could be adjusted slightly.

"If I be waspish, best beware my sting, b-baka." (Check out that primo alliteration)

That video bugged me, Kitty. Something about the mass consumerism of classic literature bothers me. I mean, I like that kind of stuff, but it seems like a cash grab of sorts. Plus, in the end it starts a Monty Python skit, then cuts it. Also, the Irish bloke he mentioned, was that the David dude?

Code Geass was cool, but the chess thing bothered me. 'Oh, how can black come back and win,' yet, if you look at the table, black's position is much better than white's. But the show did a really good job of adding more magic and drama to a Hamlet/Macbeth-esq story.
