No matter how many times I prostitute myself, I won't have enough money for PS4.

It seems they haven't learned that MMOs rarely succeed on consoles... More fool them.

The only console MMOs that succeeded were Phantasy Star Online and for a short while DC Universe Online. The rest just aren't good enough on consoles. It's quite obvious you'd love this particular game, but that doesn't mean it will work. :P

though technically not an MMO, the first Diablo came out on consoles. Command and Conquer dropped on the N64 (and sold well too,) Diablo 3 is in line for a ps3 release too.

also just thought about FF 12, 13, and 14. they all did pretty well, have an mmo quality to them, and where on consoles.

Erm. 12 and 13 were nothing like an MMO (and were widely disliked for altering the format of traditional Final Fantasy games to boot), 11 didn't do too well on the PS2 because back then online gaming wasn't really much of a thing. It also took four years for 11 to actually turn a profit, taking into account PS2, X360 AND PC players, and 14 received so much negative attention Square Enix closed the game down and are reworking it entirely. It never made it to consoles.

Also, if Command & Conquer is considered an MMO, does that mean Call of Duty is as well? Or indeed any game with an online multiplayer function?

Double also, I'm semi-excited about Diablo 3. But from the negative reception the PC version received, I'm not going to get my hopes up.

jeez... so many call of duty jabs floating around this forum.  C&C is an RTS, COD is an FPS.  Completely diff. game play styles.  Plus COD is actually fun once you prestige once or twice... since at that point you are actually good enough to play cat and mouse and murder everyone.

Most people hate COD because they expect to be better than someone else who plays more than them.  Self entitlement as usual...

Incorrect. I was not making a jab at COD. idk used Command & Conquer as an example of an MMO on the N64 (unless I'm painfully misreading it) so I merely questioned whether by default that made Call of Duty an MMO as well. I do enjoy COD in small bursts, I just can't force myself to play for days at a time like some people can. Plus the community is meh, but that can be said for any online game.

well, I did say none of those games exactly fit the description of MMO, though Command and Conquer is online, multiplayer, and team based. Diablo 3 wasn't so bad, it was just lacking a lot given it had I think 10 years from Diablo 2 to work with.

Path of Exile is amuch more interesting game though.

i misread.  The COD community is usually a bunch of children or rednecks with children screaming in the background.

But you mentioned the N64 version of C&C o_o that didn't have online...did it? XD

That's one plus side to the Xbox One. No kids playing COD.

The COD1/2 and the original modern warfare were great games, the rest after have been steaming piles. x:

While the Nintendo 64 version includes four new "Special Ops" missions, it lacks multiplayer support.

There have been some tolerable exceptions.

I mainly played them s a means to have a group activity to do with my friends.
