So my friend and I got bored the other day and decided that reading about battles and playing halo wars wasn't good enough, so we started a texting kind of game. We don't have many rules yet, actually... We really only have the battle field in mind. So basically what we intend on doing is have a huge battle, rife with secrecy and destruction, on this battlefield we "created". Pretty simple, really... Just need a good honest "foe" and you're set to go. I'll post more as we get further into the mechanics and actual gameplay, but I'm posting this here so that I can maybe get some idea's from the world of nerds. GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR! Until next time, auser8.

Oh and I didn't know where to post this, so I picked the closest genre... Mind, bored... Board... Mind board game, same stuff in my mind. Well, I guess you could make a board game out of this... But it would be absurdly close to warcraft. Your choice.

I'm intrigued!  What's the basic play concept?  Do you text "moves" or troop maneuvers to each other?  How do you decide who's winning battles?

Yea that's where having a trustworthy adversary would come into play. All about honesty. And secrecy when needed ;). And like I said, we're really just starting this so we haven't gotten mechanics sorted out yet... I've been thinking that we would have turns (still deciding on timed or not) and at the end of your turn, you text your foe where you moved the armies that are in line of sight. For the whole winning thing, we think that we should start with a certain amount of troops, and when you are out of troops you lose. Although, I suppose there could be differentwin conditions and whatnot. Like, instead of killing all the enemies troops, you need to capture their main outpost. Please, keep asking questions because they help me sort things out!
