This is almost a matter of life or death (ie, an argument with my sister!)

Some drink got spilled on my keyboard and the right shift button doesn't work. I have now discovered that I use the right shift key almost exclusively. When I complained on a famous social network, my sister pointed out that she uses the left one and I am in the wrong. So, if you feel inclined to, and can be bothered to, could people please comment which one they predominantly use?

I don't mean while gaming, or under any other circumstances, I just mean regular typing. Like,  for example, writing in a forum.

Thank you, and fingers crossed that I win!!

Paul.

Team Right!!

I use the appropriate shift button for the letter I'm making uppercase. Left hand key = left shift button, right hand key = right shift button.

Wait, there's a right shift?

But seriously, I was never taught to type 'the correct way' so I use capslock for capitalization and shift for the other characters. Always the left shift, never the right.

I never really made an attempt to notice what SHIFT key I use while keyboarding. Now that I look at it while I'm writing this post, I noticed that I am consistently using the left SHIFT key. Probably developed that habbit long ago, though I am sure when first learning how to keyboard that there was a "right way" and a "wrong way."

Ugh . . .

I'm the exact opposite. Left hand key= right hand shift, and vice versa.

I blame my giant paws, it's difficult for me to hit Left Shift + a Left side key while not hitting 2 or 3 other keys by accident.

I am in the same boat as ye Mr. Wolf.

Opposing shifts.

Big hands have so many benefits, but fine actions like typing (on computers, phones, every damn thing with buttons) and other such minute tasks become a nightmare.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Left.  Usually I would rather miss and hit Ctrl or Caps lock, then to hit Enter(full keyboard) or Arrow Up(condensed laptop). (both detrimental in CLI)

I didn't know anyone actually used the right shift button? OR WAIT I just used it to write the question mark! And I used the left one to write the ! mark. So I guess I use both depending wich one is the closest. I thought I only used the left one up until now?

Well..... I'd forgotten I'd done this, but then remembered and thought I'd check back. And now that the scores are in it appears I'm well and truly defeated!! You've all let me down... lol..

Thank you ever so much for your time though. I'm very grateful. (Although not as grateful as my sister, who said, "Ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Ha."    upon finding out the result! Graceful as ever...)

Left shift is the one for me, however sometimes I like to treat myself with a bit of the old right shift.
