Is anyone out there still playing FF games? I forced myself to beat FF12 after owning it for 5 years. It just didn't suck me in like 1-10 (11 don't count). And now I'm playing the 13th and having the same problem. I just am not invested in the story and characters. Numbers 7, 8 and 9 were the best. The story started off with a simple plot which then, at a perfect pace, began to twist and turn, developing character interests and more complex plot points. I don't see myself beating 13 any time soon

I agree that 7,8, and 9 were best. 9 was my favorite overall, and I have all 3's ISOs on my computer so I can play through emulators even though my playstation is long dead. 10 was the last one I played (I gave 11 a try, but like you said, it doesn't count)

i still have 7, 8, 9, 12 (no ps2), and 13. played all of em except 11 and 14. only reason i haven't beaten 13 is cause i got internet back. <.<

12 was awesome. i've done everything except kill the mark boss that takes over 10 hours. >.>
13 is alright. people make it out to be horrible, but i enjoyed it.

6 is still my favorite, though. been a long time since i played it. no villain comes close to matching the psychotic nature of kefka.

I still have 7(and dirge of cerberus, and crisis core),8,9,10 and all of the tactics games(i luff me some tactical combat). iv played all but 13 and 14. was not impressed with 12. 13 and 14 dont look very impressive to me and i have heard that they horribly lack the story element that i enjoy from FF games so i have no intention of playing them.

Id say 7 was definitely my favorite game, lotsa backstory and such to it. i dunno how many times iv beaten that damn game....has to be somewhere in the hundreds at least.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

I like Final Fantasy and I have played games: VII, VIII, X, X-2, XII, XIII, and XIII-2. I've only beaten X, X-2, XIII, and XIII-2. I think all of them are amazing games. XIII-2's ending was great but left me feeling a little bit sad. Anyway, I'm greatly a fan of them.

I have III, IV, VII, VIII, X, X-2, XII, and I had XIII but I never got around to finishing it and just sold it. I also have a few other spin offs, of the ones I've played I'd have to say that IV is my favorite. I need to buy the complete edition of IV on PSP.

Have you guys seen the re-release of VII on PC coming soon?

VII on PC sucked balls. Worse than the console version. The original featured various graphical glitches and a .midi soundtrack. The re-release features a button to automatically refill your health/MP whenever you want.

XIII sucked, XIII-2 was better, XII sucked, X-2 sucked, VII sucked. The rest are good.

It's all a matter of opinion. I think each game has their strengths and weaknesses. The only thing I really care about when it comes to Final Fantasy is the story.

VII sucked.

BLASPHEMY! VII was the best final fantasy ever!

People suck VII's cock because it was the first 3D game, and most of them never even played the previous games. :| It had a dull story, shitty characters, and looked terrible.

It only looked terrible because we now have amazing graphics, lol. I can't say I agree that the game is terrible but I haven't played all of it.

No, it looked terrible by those standards too. What was the deal with battle graphics being good, but the overworld looking like a child drew it?

Final Fantasy VII was a decent game, but yes it was pushed to scary levels of favouritism because it was the first real push into the world of three dimensional gaming. I like Final Fantasy II and VI, but they all have thier charms I suppose.
Recent Final Fantasy games seem to be getting more and more lost to me.
I dont know if it is the super predictability of the story or the rehashed characters and worlds, but each game seems to be further away from an enjoyable piece of gaming.

Finally another person who dislikes FFVII. If you say you dislike it, you instantly become a pariah. I hated FFVII!

I have played FFIV - FFXIII. I liked FFVIII, FFV, and FFX the best. I played FFXI for years. I purchased FFVIII on release, and it became my favorite of the series. I purchased FFXIII on release as well, returned it the next day.

Yeah Final Fantasy XIII really let me down.
All of the recent games have just been lazy duplicates of the previous game.

The protagonists get sillier and sillier every game.

Fair enough.
We need some good old fashioned white knights and Dragoons.

Yea I agree. I haven't a good "RPG" in forever. Maybe I am just too nostalgic and hoping for some JRPG action. :(
