So I have a fully developed plan for my survival of the zombie apocalypse. I know who I want to include in my group of survivors and I know where I want to go. I thought this might be a good place for all of us to share our zombie apocalypse plans

I'm going over to my friends, he has a huge stash of guns. We're gonna sit on his barn and just pick off the zombies as we have to.

That plan is so simple....my plan seems too complex now O.O

Haha, of course we have to figure out food but that won't be a big deal. Me and him are good shots so we can cover each other if we need to run for it.

And he has 2 big mastiff dogs so they'll help us too.

I live pretty far into the woods. Water is from a well. I could stay here for a while. Wood stove for heat and cooking. Hunt for food, lots of wildlife here. I honestly do not think that zombies would be my main concern with a Zombie Apocalypse. I think it would be the society that falls during the apocalypse. I could fend for myself pretty well. I own guns and bows. My main concern would probably be securing family members. In doing so, I would probably be opening up myself to death. So I would probably have to denounce them as part of my survival companions.

Propagation would be my primary objective.

I have played enough survival horror games, and watched enough zombie movies to know that strength does not lie in numbers. Numbers are a disadvantage. I have been preparing for the zombie apocalypse since I played Resident Evil Director's Cut on PSone.

The best plan of action is, go someplace remote, where there are less people. That means there are less zombies. Build up defences, either fencing or a deep moat. Find a way to gather food and water, if possible from a renewable source. Wait out the zombies, they will die off eventually.

Smart. That is indeed smart. I have a bunch of Twinkies saved in case of a zombie apocalypse. They hold even more meaning since the whole Hostess situation

I think it is a pretty awesome thing that most people alive today (in the first world countries) has a plan that they have invested many hours of thought into for what they will do when zombies come. Quite the interesting social behavior.

As for my own plan, it is fairly simple.
The only family that is worth my time live right in the same house as I, so I need not travel at all to gather them, which is a huge risk as fr as survival goes if the world has gone to shit and zombies are everywhere. My plan relies on zombies acting the way that most zombies are assumed to act given the science. Possibly fairly quick moving at first, but as they rot they get more useless. Pretty much the standard zombie that everyone knows really. I do not own any firearms, but have a friend that does. So if we needed to use them they are there. Melee weapons are what I would rely on mostly. I fully understand the restrictions and dangers of using melee weapons over firearms, but I feel that not being detected as easily will be reward enough for not enjoying the comfort of taking out a zombie from a distance. If the zombies truly are corpses, thier blood will be couagulated and shouldn't splatter in my face, which helps in not catching whatever made them zombies. If they do have blood, or ooze, or whatever, that can be remedied by wearing goggles and a mask when getting down to business. I keep a bug out bag next to my bed, which if full of wilderness survival gear. A few knives, sleeping bag, matches, lighter, magnesium bar with flint, small food staches, a collapsable cup, utensils and pot, flashlight with extra batteries, tent tied to the bottom, nylon rope, about 50 feet of 200lb test cable (which can be easily braided to make significantly stronger cable), and an assortment of other things that I can't call to mind right now. I also have a machete, a good hunting knife, and I make my own walking sticks which are good for maximizing walking efficiency and as an emergency weapon. My sturdy hiking clothing is also near by bed in a dresser. At a moments notice I can literally be ready to run off into the woods and survive for a week just on the food I have in my bag, not counting what I can get from nearby farms (dependant on season). So, that is my basic survival gear. My actual exit strategy for long term survival is fairly obvious, and unfortunately not very uncommon. I would head north. I am already in Canada, in an area that freezes over in the winter, which is good because the zombies would freeze as well. I would hunker down where I could locally until this happens, giving me and my small group (my dad, mom, two sisters, and my friend Reid, plus his probable three family members) a relatively zombie incident free trip north. I would get as far as I could by vehicle, which may not be far seeing as how most people would probably be trying to do the same and get away somewhere. So highways are a no-go. Using back roads as much as possible I would head north as far as we could go by vehicle, then continue on foot to my destination. There are a few remote radio broadcast relay stations way up in norther Canada that are in areas that never really thaw. Constant freezing temperatures, which is perfect for making sure no zombies ever get to you. They can't very well get to you if they are frozen to the ground tens of kilometers from you. That being said, food would be hard to come by up there, which is where phase three comes in to play and a hydroponics system would have to be set up to grow what produce that I can, while hunting for the rest of the food. Wild game isn't super common everywhere up north, but it is there if you know where to look. Water isn't a problem if there is ice and snow everywhere, all I need to do is be able to boil it for sterilization and im golden. From there on out it is just plain old survival. If my plan worked out as I planned, zombies wouldn't be a problem anymore and the only thing I would have to worry about is assholes who are taking advantage of the world being in a state of decay. Though if I were in a good defensible building that is far enough up in the cold, most people wouldn't bother to venture there in hopes of finding things to raid.

I guess thats about it, there are some minor details that I left out, but only because I can't think of them at the moment.
