So...I searched and couldn't find a thread for this which perplexed me since this show was made for nerds! Between Walking Dead, Talking Dead, and Comic Book Men, Sundays were my geek out nights! So is anyone else head over heels in love with this show?

While I do usually enjoy the ranting of Kevin Smith. I haven't seen much of this show.

I've never even heard of Comic Book Men before. What's the premise?

Never heard of it. Then again, TV isn't something I'm into all that much these days. Unless it's a cop show, I don't care enough to watch it.

It basically follows Kevin Smith and his comic book store.

Am I the onyl one who is getting a little bit sick of Kevin Smith?
He sort of lost his appeal as a fat, cocky comic book geek a good long time ago for me.

I can never get over my love for Kevin Smith. But he is definitely not for everybody.

I kind of got into it by accident. It happened to be on and I ended up falling in love. Oddly enough, Kevin Smith isn't my main reason to watch. The Stash workers are quite entertaining.

Because of this thread, I went and watched the first season. I had only seen a few bits and pieces of different episodes until now. I have been enjoying the actual store front sections. However, the podcast section of the show feels a bit forced. I do not socialize with other comic book nerds. Is this how they interact with each other normally? They all seem very cynical and watching them talk about my beloved superheroes does make me feel a bit uncomfortable, for some reason.

It is like a nerdy mash-up of Pawn Stars and Howard Stern.

The podcast section can be kind of awkward depending on the episode. I do enjoy the in-store sections more simply because I love seeing Bryan Johnson in action.

I will continue to watch it. There aren't many authentic nerdy people on T.V.

he was never the cocky, smug guy. Quite the opposite actually, dude is super humble. I won't lie, I love the guys on Tell Em Steve Dave, but feels liek they're being held back on the show.

So is this Pawn Stars but with comic books?

I saw a couple advertisements on TV but I never considered watching it. The last time I watched something on TV involving nerds was that dating show a year or two ago, where they just showcased the weirder people and laughed at them.

I might try it later.

I went to college with a guy who grew up in the same area Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes.
He told be that they are basically the exact same in real life as Jay and Silent Bob, only their roles are reversed, and they aren't plucky or comical.
Just greasy pot smokers/dealers who made everyone going into that Quick Stop uncomfortable.
Then Kevin Smith got famous and developed a whole new level of smug.
If you watch him get interviewed or his Evening With Kevin Smith stuff you can see it.

I stil llive in that area, I'm literally a 10 minute walk from the quick stop, and I can tell you thats pretty far off. Only Bryan Johnson and Jason Mewes smoked when they were younger, both are clean now and have been for some time. As for the comical, I see Johnson all the time, he hangs with Walt for real at the secret stash or he's at home. Anytime I've seen him he's been hilarious. As for Kevin Smith's smugness, he's always been super cool when I've met him and as for the smugness in An Evening with (1,2, or even 3) I don't see it. As for when they worked at the quickstop, he didn't know mewes until after he left. Whoever told you this sounds like he has a personal vendetta.

What other kind of vendetta is there?

Quite alright.
This friend of mine was sort of the angry type, so you are probably on to something there.
