For the next week, all members will be exempt from ads. All guests however will now see the footer code, a code after the first thread in each forum, and a code after the first post in every forum. At the end of the week, I'll collect results to see how this works.

If it's not a personal question, what sort of monthly revenue does the site turn over roughly with the current advertisement plan? I'm simply curious, you don't have to answer of course. =)

Round about $15 a month. Not a lot, but plenty to cover the hosting costs and such.

Ah that's good. I was just wondering if there were ways to potentially monetise the forum further do give a greater bank of funds of expansionism, whether that be an advertising campaign or something different altogether. Of course if the forum was already getting a couple hundred quid a month then there's no point haha.

Yeah, it's not making much of a profit, that's my goal with this. I'd like to have some spare money from it that could be used for advertising, giveaways, etc.

User referring and ad signups?

A user refers someone (as we all want) and the signup page for a referal link also has a relevant advert. You could also get in contact with some gaming sites or something and ask them to pay you for putting their ad on your site.

I'd honestly prefer to have a few ads as possible.

I think the key is to put content on here that will drive in people. That's what I am trying to do with my blog. It may not be helpful to everyone, but it might be to someone. I've found a few answers to my work related issues on forums and blogs in the past. I just read mailing lists now lots of info on specific products
