Building a new PC in the near future and I have enough room in my budget for either an SSD or water cooling.
The current hard drive is 7200rpm 6.0gb/s SATA drive, the processor in question is AMD FX-8150 3.6ghz.
I've heard the 8150 with stock cooling can be pushed to 4 ghz OC no problem, someone claims they have it stable at 5.1ghz with water cooling (my ambient temp is high, I really doubt I could push it that hard).
So, SSD or water cooling?

Honestly, I saw a much greater difference with my cheap SSD than overclocking my processor.

I don't, but I really want one.
Noise wise, I imagine it's just like a fan system, depends on how you set it up. Put some rubber matting under the pump, and use nice slow fans.

Get the SSD, you'll feel the improvement, just an OC won't be very noticeable probably.

Yeah I'm leaning towards the SSD. I wouldn't mind having all my documents on a completely separate hard drive anyway.

Try and get one with glowing green or red or blue fluid 
if that's possible. It would be AWESOME together with a casemod

One thing I've noticed helps with cooling too: A properly ventillated case.
Now, you'll notice MUCH better performance increase from an SSD over straight watercooling kit and maybe overclocking.

Your HDD is always going to be the biggest bottleneck. I agree with the sentiment to get an SSD first.
Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
