Who do you think would win in a fight to the death, A jedi, or a sayian elite? Or better yet, Anakin versus Goku?

Pft, Star Wars all the way. It takes a Sayian 3 episodes to even get ready to fight someone.

I saw someone do the math superman vs. DBZ characters somewhere; it amounted to Krillin being able to kill superman with one destructo disc. So from a two worlds colliding as realistic as it gets kind of POV, the saiyan would win with ease. I'll try to find a link later when I get home.

This has to be some of the nerdiest math ever done.

My boss is the probably the largest nerd I've ever met. (he's a cool dude, though) He's actually written a couple books, as well as a lot of his friends from high school. All of their sci fi books have a solid math background to them/actual physics concepts. Had no idea Sci Fi writers cared too much about being realistic.

Im fairly certain Chi Chi could take Anakin Skywalker apart.
Come to think of it, stick the Ox King in a room with the entire Jedi Council and he would probably make it out alive.

Sayans, and other powered races, have the same powers as any jedi only waaaaay more powerful.
Plus lots of powers that don't even exist in the Star Wars universe.
Also, lightsabers won't do the Jedi any good since almost every character of worth in the Dragonball universe can withstand energy blasts strong enough to cut through/explode/implode entire cities. What good would a laser stick do in a world of laser WMDs.

And Krillin wouldn't have to worry about hitting anything, in the star wars universe he would be a god among peasants.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Honorable DBZ mentions:

Spirit Bomb

Super Saiyan 4 [even though I hated GT]

Flash Step

Dragon Balls [deus ex machina in a box]

Impact that causes mountains to crumble [being a somewhat normal thing]

Really, It's a bad comparison, because where Star Wars was live-action, they partially based it in reality.

Whereas DBZ was an anime, so the reality "kid gloves" were already off, so of course the characters would be stronger

That, and DBZ constantly kept scaling upwards, aside from when Goku was dead, it would have been boring for all the enemies to be weaker than Goku

Speaking of, death in DBZ was kinda a trivial thing, so had they managed to slay anyone, they'll probably be back before next season

Everyone always rips on Dragonball for taking forever to fight someone, but it was never really that bad.
They do a lot of dramatic pauses and speeches when they should be kicking people's heads in, but the energy attack powerup times aren't all that terrible.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

I remember one episode where it was Goku charging up for SS3, and everyone was commenting on it

It wasn't until the end of the episode that Goku hit SS3

that's about as bad as I remember it getting

That instance is pretty drawn out, but they do jump around to other characters and stuff, it is never just a single shot of whoever is powering up standing there yelling.

At the end of the day, there are a lot of other anime where all they do is stand there and talk every episode, Dragonball will never be those anime.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

I imagine a lightsaber would cut right through the master sword.

I think Tool-Assisted Speedrun Link could actually take on a jedi

what with all the sidejumps and Infinite Superslide

Not necessarily.
There are a few metals in the Star Wars universe that can withstand the heat and energy of a lightsaber, like Mandelorian Iron, Cortosis, Ultrachrome, Neuranium and Phrik.

There are also some animals that have lightsaber resistant bones, like the ones on Felusia.

So it it conceivable that the master sword might be lightsaber resistant.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

it is made from the tears of a thousand tortured souls, bound by the promise of the sages that evil shall never again walk the land..its also says that in order for a blade to hold such magical power it has to be made of pure metals such as Azurine, Crimsonine, and aqaunine.
