I've revisisted that show so many times since I was a kid. Last time I watched it was just last year.

Why was it canceled? Low viewership ratings? Or did Nickelodeon find the show too dark?

Low viewership, high production cost(apparently the animation style used was particularly expensive at the time), and if memory serves a group of parents boycotting the show due to the halloween episode being particularly frightening to younger audience members(the majority of nick's target audience)
