New Metal Gear came out today. I've been a big fan, so I picked it up before lunch. Hell, I woke up before lunch to go buy the damn thing. Played the prologue before work and started up a few hours ago after getting home.Maybe six hours in.

Shit, this seems big.I don't know shit about geography, but you seem to be in Afghanistan during the Soviet's invasion, back when Muslims were still freedom fighters and not persons of interest. Robot arm, cowboys, lava whale, and a faceful of HD titties. Those should be the tags for this post...

Controls are sleek, although Big Boss keeps fucking equipping the cardboard box when I want nightvision googles. That'll probably get me shot eventually.

I've been kidnapping goats and puppies in the desert with balloons for the last hour while jamming Kids in America. Good soundtrack, but I eventually started playing songs on my laptop.

I think I can invade other bases, if the server would work. No se.

It's a game on my 'to-get' list, though there's a few before it since I'm still not convinced that Konami are any good anymore (that whole £25 for a tech demo shit pissed me off)

Looks ok thus far. My brother is currently playing it in my room.

Looks like they've put more emphasis on the open world aspect (reminiscent to far cry 4) and compromised it's cinematic  charm that made the original 4 awesome.

Kinda weird that you recruit......... I mean KIDNAP people for your army..... lol

I also had to mention the fact that our horse now poops on command :)

Recruiting isn't actually new. It was a feature included in both Portable Ops games, as well as Peace Walker.

I never had the chance to play Portable Ops since the power button on my old psp fucked out. Not 2 mention a used copy goes for 80 bux...... damn!

I find it kinda funny that you work for Ocelot..... you know.... the guy who shot out your eye? I know, I know, he was a double agent and all..... yadayada, but I wuld still hold a grudge towards him.

I guess I'm being kinda hard on this game. Still early days.....

The soldiers I choose not to kill are honored to join my squad. Otherwise, I was going to shoot them in the leg and listen as they plead their gods for help in their broken potato language.

Also, what fucking button poops? I remember seeing a video a few weeks ago of a car wrecking on poop a la banana peel style.

For realz. Ground Zeroes wasn't worth more than 5$. I felt like I was a beta tester. And Konami will only be good if they can put out a decent Castlevenia. Otherwise, I have no faith in them. Kojima was their only redeeming quality lately and they let him go. I expect them to be bankrupt, unless they switch to shitty moble pay-to-win games like squaresoft says they want to.

Also, this game is full of shenanigans. I was stalking a patrol. Heard jeep and hid. Jeep hit them. Driver got out and called in an alert. MOTHERFUCKER FRAMED ME.

I can't wait to see the mods people come up with.

So I got it yesterday. I tried to KO a sentry and accidentally slammed him into a corrugated metal wall. Alerted the whole facility. Hopped over the sandbags and dropped prone, managed to avoid being found despite just lying there. Alert died down and I tried to get him again, crawled around, onto the road, was gonna hop up just before I got to him. Hear an engine. Get ran over.

Welcome to Grand Metal Auto V.

Also the puppy is adorbs.

Also also, I really think my men need to mutiny and pick a new leader, I spent ~10 minutes crawling around the outskirts of the Mother Base. Then I ran up two flights of stairs, saluted the sniper on the roof, and jumped off.

I managed to think I finished the game, reach the credits, and then look up all the spoilers because I felt nothing had been answered.

Don't do that. Really. Don't. Do. That.
All those spoilers. None of which I even cared about a lot, because it all just felt so stupid, but still.

The game was fun, but I didn't like it as a Metal Gear Solid game. It eventually started looping the same missions but "harder" and I just decided I had enough.
